“Umm I don’t know. I hope she has a girl.” He ran a hand through his hair as he shifted from one foot to the other. “So umm you’re going to be my brother that’s cool. Do you want to take BonBon for a walk with me?” He wanted advice on how to deal with his betrothed and with Joseph being gone Joel was the next best thing.

“I think as long as the babies healthy we should be blessed.” he raised an eyebrow at the other male a small smile appearing on his features. “Yeah of course, i’d love to bond with you or whatever.” he chuckled softly as a hand ran through his hair.

          a small snort escaping, the crown prince shook his head, giving his younger brother an unimpressed look.     ‘ i never lose, brother. ’     though the words didn’t prove to be wrong so far, his manner was light meaned this time.      ‘ well, in that case, i better start looking into everything else. ’     he grinned before patting him on the back gently and handing him the pair of shoes.     ‘ years of keeping up every single day pays off. ’ 

“Mhm is that so?” he tilted his head to the side as a small laugh escaped his lips. “i think personally i’d really appreciate swedish presents just because the kids going to be raised in france it might be nice to have a part of its heritage around.” he shrugged his shoulders before running a hand through his hair. “They’re great though, I really appreciate it dude.”

“you can still repeat yourself.” Rosette teased, shrugging. “do you even have to ask?” she said grabbing his hand with a grin. she gave the glass of champagne in Joel’s hand an almost longing look. “this is just as hard as i remember.” she muttered. she had to quit drinking while she was in rehab for her drug abuse, and quitting cold turkey back then had been one of the worst experiences for her. but there was no part of her that would allow her to take as much as a sip now, she was too fearful of the result it might have on her child. “it’s going to be a long nine months without alcohol.” she thought out loud. “i can’t think of a time i’ve gone that long without drinking since i was….about 12.”

“I think i’ll be repeating myself for the rest of my life.” he grinned happily as he wrapped his arms around the blonde. “We’ll just have to keep you occupied with other recreational activities that don’t involve alcohol won’t we.” he teased her as he squeezed her hand lightly. “it’ll be fun, besides if we get really desperate you can always just watch me.”

          ‘ so, i was reading how to be an uncle: 101 the other day, ’     adrian began with a joke, a playful grin on his face as he approached his brother. holding out the little cream colored pair of shoes, his grin widened.      ‘ apparently, i should claim the best uncle spot as early as possible. so i got the little one these. ’ 

“Oh?” he raised an eyebrow at the other as a small smirk appeared on his lips. “I think you might have some serious competition for that position.” he nodded his head at the other. “I’m sure Henri is already planning their first birthday.” he joked but in reality he was unsure how much Henri had thought about his new position. “There great though!” he grinned as he glanced at the shoes. “You’ve got a talent for fashion”

“of course, you will be. i can’t be freaking out about all of this on my own now, can i?” she couldn’t do any of this on her own, she thought. she was glad she had Joel, she needed him. “and if in trying to ‘give them what they want’, i end up becoming my own mother? that would be the worst thing that could ever happen to me, and our daughter will end up hating me even more. just like i did my mother.” how exactly was she supposed to be a good parent when the only example she had to lead by were her own parents, who had been less than accomplished in the parenting department? “yeah, but i’d like to think i raised scandalous into an art form with the type of trouble i was getting into.” she chuckled. “it’s okay, have a large ego. you’ve earned it with how sweet you’re being.”

Joel shook his head as he took her hand in his. “Stop talking about the negative possibilities.” a frown appeared on his lips as his eyes searched hers. “We’re going to be the best possible parents for our child, and it’s going to be wonderful.” he kissed her softly as he stroked her hand. “This child will witness and know what it’s like to have parents who love each other very much and thats all they’ll need.”

“Well i would tell you that you look beautiful tonight.” he grinned at the blonde as he leaned in to kiss her cheek. “But i’m pretty sure i’ve been telling you that you’re gorgeous all night.” he shook his head a goofy smile appearing on his lips. “You know you’re stunning and that i find you breath taking so why bother repeating myself.” he was starting to ramble as he stared at rosie her beauty catching him off guard again. It felt like he was on a never ending merry go round with her, her constantly taking his breath away. “Shall we dance beautiful?” he grinned at her before nodding his head at a waiter that passed by, he grabbed two glasses off the tray handing one to rosie before changing his mind and taking the glass back. “I forgot, sorry.” he shook his head mentally beating himself up before throwing back her drink in his mouth.

Henri moved a bit to wrap an arm around the other in a loose hug as he gave him a small smile. “Hi Joel. I wouldn’t give you a stern talking to. You know I’m happy that you and my sister are together. I can’t wait to be an uncle. I want to babysit all the time.” He commented happily as he reached down to pet BonBon since the pug so badly wanted attention. 

“Any bets on the gender yet?” he glanced at the other. “I’m thinking of starting a competition on gender between the families, $5 entries.” he nodded his head as he smiled proudly. “Winners split the prize, get bragging rights the normal.”

Rosette smiled teasingly with a shrug. “only time will tell.” her eyes softened at his enthusiasm. “how can i know already, silly? i’m just making a guess… it feels like a boy? but maybe that’s just wishful thinking. ” her eyes widened at his use of the words ‘next time’. “oh no, chérie. we don’t even know if we can handle one and you’re already thinking about a second. and granted, a mini me running around Versailles would be very cute, but it would also be a nightmare. i was a horrible child ! a complete brat, i used to throw tantrums on a daily basis, and my teenage years were even worse. imagine our daughter bringing home guys like the ones i used to date.” a thought of sympathy for her mother who had to tame such a wild child came to Rosette. had she been too hard on the queen her entire life? “epic love story? the tale of beauty & beauty?” she chuckled.

“I don’t know, maybe i’m just hopeful.” he shook his head at the other. “I want to come to your appointments.” he answered honestly as he took rosette’s hand in his.  “I want a small army of children love.” he teased her before placing a kiss on the top of her hand. “Sounds like you’ll have all the skills necessary to deal with a mini you then? you’ll know how to give them what they want.” he shook his head the thought of rosie giving a stern talking to their child entered his mind. “I didn’t think you were too bad of a teenager, a little scandalous but most royals are aren’t they?” he grinned at her “Are you calling me handsome love? I didn’t think my ego could get any larger than it already was.”

Henri had spent a good amount of time with his sister making sure she was okay and he honestly couldn’t have been more excited about her pregnancy. He felt like he had to track down Joel though as his future brother in law he wanted to welcome him into the family. He had of course stolen BonBon to come with him as moral support. He had never been good at being social but Joel was going to be his sister’s husband and his sister was the only family he had. He had to get along with him. “Ummm Hello Joel. How are you?” He asked in a nervous voice as he approached the man.

Joel grinned at the other as he approached Joel. “If it isn’t little Henri!” he exclaimed as he glanced at the younger male. “i’m great! How are you Hen?” he asked curiously as he moved to pat the other on the back. “You’re not here to give me a stern talking to regarding knocking your sister up right?” he glanced at the other before letting a laugh escape his lips. “Sorry about that, everything happens for a reason though!”

“just promise me you won’t let dad and mum pressure you into getting married too fast. it’s okay if she walks down the aisle when she’s the size of a cow,” clary assured joel, trying to reverse psychology her brother. she very much wants rosette to walk down the aisle super pregnant. the entertainment! “you only get married once, it has to be perfect. except you’re not just marrying your best friend, you’re also having a kid with your best friend.” at the mere mention of being an aunt, clary scrunched up her nose. “maybe in about ten years when my so-called maternal instincts kicks in.” // @adriianbs·

          ‘ clary. ’     the eldest one looked at his sister as if to get her to stop taunting their brother, yet he found her amusing enough to have a small grin on his face. he then shook his head in order to get into a more serious mode.     ‘ of course we are happy. ’     he replied before pressing his lips into a thin line.     ‘ it’s just that the summit isn’t the best place to spend a whole pregnancy in – and possibly a good portion of the baby’s first year. ’     he replied before reaching to pat joel on the back.     ‘ but congratulations, brother. how do you feel ? ’           @joelxbernadotte​

Joel glanced at his siblings again, a sense of annoyance growing on him as the other two died down his excitement about the announcement. “I feel ecstatic.” he admitted as he shrugged his shoulders. “It’ll be fine.” he shook his head at the thought of his child growing up in such a chaotic environment. “It’ll be the only time in their life they’ll have to experience the summit, if i have anything to say about it.” he admitted as he glanced at his older brother. “I don’t think it makes much of a difference where it happened as long as it happened.” he shook his head as he bit down on his lip. “I love her, i have for a long time now and without this baby i wouldn’t be marrying her.”

“Yes and i think the king of France should know some french.” calling him ‘king of France’ felt odd on her tongue, she had barely gotten used to the idea that some day she would be queen of France. baby steps, she reminded herself. “of course i do, cheri, why else would i teach you?” she smirked. “damn right i’m not. i already brought so few of my clothes to London, and then half of them wouldn’t fit into the tiny walk-in-closet here so the ambassador of France to England made me send them back. our son, won’t need closet space so soon anyways.” she smirked as she emphasises on ‘son’. she fake-gasped at his next words. “took advantage of you? that’s not the way i remember it. what i remember is you kissing me back and then thanking me the next morning, or are you forgetting that part?”

Joel smiled proudly at her. “Do you think you chose the right king?” he grinned down at her in his arms. “Mhm?” his eyes widened at the word “It’s a boy?” he asked as he ran his thumb over his child. “What a lucky boy.” he hummed as he kissed her softly. “Maybe we can try for a baby girl next time?” he added as he glanced a the blonde. “A mini you running around our castle sounds too adorable to miss out on, besides don’t you want to teach them all about make up and stuff.” he shrugged his shoulders smiling happily to himself. “I was intoxicated at the time, though i do not regret my actions.” he chuckled. “Obviously this romance was a long time in the making, one of those epic love stories i hope.”

“no, you’re right. i won’t end up in a wedding gown if i say wedding three times but i will end up flinging myself down the grand staircase. have fun scraping my organs off the marble floor!” clary replied dramatically. glancing between her brothers, the brunette rolled her eyes. of course her parents had managed to arrange a marriage to make joel a king. “depends on who you knock up. if it’s a crown princess then you have nothing to worry about. if it’s just a princess, you might as well as start digging your grave.” // @adriianbs·

          ‘ now that actually sounds like a good cover up plan if you do decide to run off. swedish princess fell down the grand staircase, the wedding is cancelled as she returned home for her recovery. ’     adrian teased, yet there was something serious to his tone, hopefully indicating that he’d be here to back her up if she did decide to back off from the arrangement. raising his eyebrows at joel, though, adrian shook his head.     ‘ did you already … why ? oj herre gud … ’     adrian paused before adding.      ‘ it is with your fiancee, though, right ? ’     @joelxbernadotte​

Joel let out a small sigh at his siblings clear disinterest in the situation. “Yes, it’s actually the reason the betrothal occurred.” he shrugged his shoulders. “I thought you’d be more excited to be an uncle and aunt though?” she glanced at the others. “It just felt like the right time, we’ve been friends for years. Besides i’m not going to complain about marrying my best friend.”

“I could teach you.” she offered with a smirk. “teach you all the sexiest words in the sexiest language.” she yelped in surprise as he picked her up, then proceeded to throw her head back slightly and laugh at how sappy the gesture was ( and how it created butterflies in her stomach ). “mine, obviously. i’m the one who’s pregnant so i’m the one who’s every whim and fancy you’ll have to obey for the next 9 months and then possibly the rest of your life.” she grinned. “yes food, sounds perfect. ice cream specifically. a tub of icecream. i’m eating for two now after all.” she raised an eyebrow at his next words. “intoxicating? are you telling me all your actions right now have been under the influence, that you’re inebriated? because i don’t know about you but i’ve walked into this with my eyes wide open.”

Joel raised an eyebrow at the other. “I suppose having two parents who know french is better than one.” he grinned at her smirk as he ran his thumb over her cheek. “I don’t need to know all the sexy words, unless you want me to whisper them in your ear.” he’d tease as he let out a light chuckle at the noise that escaped her lips. “I think moving into your room might be nice, besides lets me get rid of some of my belongings. Make room for bub in the closet and everything.” he paused. “Because i doubt you’ll be able to throw out your clothes and make room for her.” he grinned as he glanced down at the small human growing inside her. “No i’ve not been under that influence, apart from that one time you took advantage of me.” he teased her. “I just think i’m enjoying your touch and scent a little too much.”

She was still mad and annoyed at him when he moved towards her, but didn’t move away. as he wrapped his arms around her, she felt that anger slowly evaporate. “the fact that you feel the need to ask me that, is slightly insulting.” she muttered, trying to maintain some of that previous anger. but her eyes softened and she gave him her usual smile as he tenderly brushed a few strands of hair from her face. then she pushed his chest lightly at the joke with an eye roll, but the smile on her face remained. her eyes didn’t move from his as he cupped her cheek. “but see, that’s the difference. he and i are made up of memories but you and i are the present, the here and now. and memories can never compete with the moment we’re living in.” she smiled at his statement. “have i ever told you that hearing you talk in my mother tongue, is a huge turn on for me?” she chuckled just before she stood on her toes to kiss him. 

Joel grinned at her as he ran a finger along her check stroking it as such. “Maybe i’ll have to learn some more than.” he chuckled softly as she kissed him. He ran a hand over her hair as he placed his hands on her hips and pulled her up so he could carry her. He pulled away from the kiss for a moment as he rested his head against hers. “So who’s room are we moving into?” he’d chuckle softly before pecking her lips. “We should probably get you and bub some food on the way.” he grinned at her as he just stared at her for a moment. “you’re intoxicating.”
