Even though Christmas is going to be quite warm this year (a high of 80F), last night’s temperature allowed us to remanence of previous times up north when we would be so lucky to have such great weather. The girls were fantastic tonight during their winter showcase. It truly is a joy watching them grow in Latin ballroom; their skills complementing their ever growing love for this style of dance. Last day in Hill Country would not be complete without visiting @garrisonbros in Hye, Texas. From the rustic, country setting to deliciously sweet bourbon that we both tried and purchased, it was a perfect cap to a great getaway before Ally started fifth grade. As we start wrapping up our Orlando 2021 vacation, we begin to start thinking about “the next time” we return and plan on how we will do it differently. As the girls get older, that means more time at Islands of Adventure, but do we sacrifice to make up for that? I guess we just need a longer vacation! We hit most everything on our must do list, Hogwarts, Galaxy’s Edge, Splash Mountain and more. Until next time, we will savor our time we had in this magical place. First few days of our Orlando Adventure Vacation has been Fast and Furious. The girls have been real troopers dealing with the masks even in the heat and humidity. Of course it isn’t hard to be motivated when you see Mickey and his friends, all the Princesses and some Harry Potter to boot. The weather though hot is a far cry from summers here. We look forward to our remaining time here in central Florida. One more day at Universal Studios and four more at Disney. Truly goes way too fast. 2020...what a memorable year it was. For many, it was one that was forgettable, filled with angst, fears and a lot of strife. 2020 brought me more joys and experiences that I may never get in my lifetime. Whether it’s seeing the Mona Lisa in the Louvre with no lines, or getting to spend an entire month with my family in the Dubai Marina; it was one of the most unforgettable years of my life. No matter what life throws at you, you need to make the most of the situation, even if a pandemic sweeps the earth. Life is short and spending it away from those that mean the most to me is ludicrous; that’s why I decided to leave the UAE and return home to my family in Texas. I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity I was afforded here and the many new friends I have acquired. When I leave here next week, I leave with no regrets and hope that the new year will continue to bring us all further success and happiness. God bless and I will hope to see you all next year. It was a day of firsts. First time at Ferrari World for Jess and the girls. Celine rode her first roller coaster. And I drove my first Ferrari with Allison in the comfy back passenger seat. Another great day, this time we drove down Abu Dhabi for the weekend. Luckily, the border crossing was light and only had to contend with only a handful of cars in line to enter the girl’s newest Emirates. After our trip to Paris in March, it was only natural to visit the other Louvre. An architectural wonder in its own right, the Louvre is quite unique from her sister site in France. Outside the constant reminders from us and the army of guards that there is no touching or climbing on the exhibits, the girls enjoyed their time there. It has been an adventurous time in Dubai. From the world’s tallest building (Burj Khalifa) to the pristine waters around the Atlantis, the girls have enjoyed every second of their stay thus far in the UAE. Nothing brightens my day more than having my wife and daughters with me. We were fortunate to have them fly all the way out here to Dubai for the month to enjoy all the craziness the COVID has to offer. This “vacation” is a little low-key and more relaxation.
