I’ve had the enormous privilege and luck at being born into the dysfunctional, perfectly imperfect family that I have now. They accept and embrace who I am without question. But I know my situation is by no means the norm: to everyone out there that live in fear of their family finding out who they are, be it gender identity, sexual orientation, or anything else that makes you the special, wonderful person you are, just know that it will get better and when you think you have no one, know you will always have yourself. That’s why it’s the most important and bravest thing to do to embrace who you are and love everything that makes you different. I’m on your side too, and I’m rooting for you ❤

Everybody needs to get themselves a best friend to (platonically) fall in love with. You just learn so much; how to be open, how to fight for someone else, and how to forget about all the crap you’ve had to put up with for them at the end of the day because they’re worth it. I think that’s the kind of love you learn the most from
