#lmao i still can’t believe this film put fandom’s botched interpretation of katniss and gale’s ending into the film#what a joke#THEY NEVER SAID GOODBYE TO EACH OTHER#these 2 kids have lost so much and neither one can say out loud that this is the end for them#she doesn’t answer him when he says she’ll always be thinking it was his bomb#she doesn’t say it because she doesn’t want it to admit it#admitting it means she’s lost him#she can never separate him from it but she’s not angry with him#it would be easier if she was angry#if she hated him and made the choice to walk away because she decided this was a person she no longer wanted#it would all be so much easier but that’s not what happens#instead a silence hangs between them and he leaves because he understands and he won’t make it more painful for her#she wants to shout after him and tell him how she isn’t innocent and how she can forgive him#but she can’t so she watches him go and decides to live with the pain#she sits in the woods and closes her eyes and imagines he’ll appear#without him there is a piece missing and without it she’ll no longer quite fit in that space like she once did#she misses him#she never said goodbye (x)
