Kasalanan bang mahalin ka nang lubusan, Upang ako'y iyong iwanan~

Kasalanan Ba was released in 1995. It's One of the most iconic Original Pilipino Music (OPM) Song of all time. With its memorable pre-chorus and chorus that most Filipinos are familiar with.

This is the type of song that has that hugot in it. Loving someone genuinely yet they don't treat you the same way—and now you're only reminiscing the memories the two of you had together.

The song has a very catchy melody especially for its chorus. With its homophonic texture and heartbreaking lyrics, Filipinos easily liked the song as of what we call today the hugot songs.

Bon Jovi - Bed Of Roses

I want to lay you down in a bed of roses, For tonight I'll sleep on a bed of nails~

Bed of Roses is also one of the most popular songs not just then but also today. Performed by Bon Jovi, a well received rock band, this song topped the charts in 1993 right after it was officially released as a single.

This song just screams out pure pain. Sobering every moment because of love that have failed you? Or is it the other way around?

Drama aside, no wonder why this song is so popular, one of the best songs to sing whenever you are out there having fun with your friends. Singing ballad-rock songs like this would literally match the vibe the time you're having with them.

I mean, the song is indeed good to be sung along. But, the song is more to that, it has a wonderful description of what the song is all about. Ignoring your love because of other things and then realizing at the end what you have wasted. Ouch... that would really hurt.

Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember? Ba-dee-ya, dancin' in September~

Aside from rock and ballad songs that rose in the charts back in the day—lively and groovy songs also did back then. September was released in 1978, during the era of disco that helped cultivate the culture we have today. 

September is the kind of song that will make you want to dance. With its fast tempo within the instruments, it made the song very lively and suitable for disco and fun dances. Its iconic chorus, which up until now has been used in videos, memes, and other stuff, helps the song keep its popularity considering its release date.

APO Hiking Society - When I Met You

You gave me a reason for my being And I love what I'm feeling~

If there is already someone who has changed your life, then you can probably relate to this. When I Met You was released in 1982, yet some people just discovered this song recently? You've been living for years and still don't know this? What?

Kidding aside, I was actually surprised when I found out that this was Original Pilipino Music (OPM). I really thought it was released internationally by a foreign band. Well, that speaks quality. With its brilliant lyrics and soothing melody, along with the well-done harmonization of their voices—a masterpiece was made.

Have you also discovered those kind of OPM songs you thought were internationally produced at first?

Compared to other old songs, this was less popular among the current generation. However, thanks to some online lyric edits, it help boost again its popularity to younger people.

Let's just keep blasting this song to help it get the attention it deserves.

Bryan Adams - Heaven

Baby you're all that I want, when you're lying here in my arms~

It's kind of impossible if you haven't heard of this song. Officially released in the year 1985, this song continues to serenade us with its slow rock melody and romantic lyrics.

Personally, it's this song that, when I listen to it, I would definitely play it again. It has that addictive trait. Starting the song with a ballad-like melody, then with the slow drums kicking in, you will definitely feel like you're in heaven with this song. It would end with what I call the "most sing-along" part, wherein I would just shout out my lungs as loud as I could just to keep up with it.

Definitely one of the songs of the past we should appreciate. Listening to it will give you that loving feeling within your comfort. May we all find the heaven we crave, which will make us feel safe.
