Joey Ramone was rushed to the New York Hospital Burn Center and was treated for burns in 1977, after a vaporizer, which he used to open up his vocal cords, literally blew up in his face just before the Ramones hit the stage, an incident that inspired him to write “I Wanna Be Sedated” (photo by Danny Fields). One of the very few that could keep a punk rock aesthetic while hospitilized in pyjamas.
