Levi narrowed his eyes as if waiting to hear something mean. Before his bubbly smile appeared. When their hands joined he took a deep breath and squeezed the palm against his. The scenery changed. Their office was on fire. He squeezed again and it turned into them in an aquarium being watched. Next it was a jungle. The following they were falling from a jet- and there! The feeling of falling had him jerking awake. His head slammed against the underside of John's desk. "OW!"
Jerking awake himself after the horrific turn of events--the flurry of images; the sickening lurches in movement, the fire and the water and the earth--John was left reeling, ripping a paper that'd been stuck to his sleeping visage off his face and tearing his hand from Levi's own.
"..I--I have to--" Breathless, Killdeer jerked out of his seat and backed away from the man under his desk--knocking a stack of papers over with a fumble of hands, staggering through the groggy, reawakening figures for the door--the exit--the only way out.
"I have to g-go," he half-whispered, looking back at Levi frantically--then vanishing into the hall, all but booked it for his beat-up car.
"I have to go..."
