Perhaps nothing cements Signature Brewâs mantra of âbrewing with musicâ better than a band playing in the brewery itself. And who better than hotly-tipped alt-pop outfit Banfi to bring the music? The perfect opportunity to launch the bandâs self-titled Signature Brew collab beer at the same time and a tasty afternoon
Ahead of Signature Brewâs return to Slam Dunk festival, I organised the seven of the bands appearing at the event to come to the brewery to create the worldâs biggest band collaboration beer (ft. Signature Brew, Slam Dunk, Creeper, As It Is, Trash Boat, Roam, Astroid Boys, Woes and Rob Lynch).
This is something Iâm really proud of â I combined Signature Brewâs two loves to create the Beer & Music zine. It features bands, brewers, artists, poets and illustrators and embodies what the band stands for in a meaningful and wholesome way. Itâs available from all the music festivals weâre at this summer, as well as venues and bars we love
The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) is the beer industryâs top body and have kindly recognised our at Signature Brew with not one, but two awards. Best Marketing Implementation (for touring a beer bar around music festivals on the back of a tour bus and other madness) and Brewery Business of the Year. You can read more about it here. Oh and if anyone wants any award entries writing, drop me a lineâŠ
If anyoneâs desperate to find out what my album of the year is, itâs listed on here. Spoiler alert: Itâs The Menzingers - After The Party and you can listen to it on Spotify HERE.
The busiest week of the year is over and once again a new Star Wars film is released into the wild. Shout out to Lucasfilm for the early Christmas present and to Caravan coffee for the life support throughout the week.
It was my privilege to review the live album of Chester's final Linkin Park tour in this week's Kerrang!. Itâs the second piece Iâve written about him since he took his life earlier this year and while Iâm still upset itâs definitely been nice to pay tribute to someone I looked up to in my formative years and was fortunate enough to spend time with.
I talk about Star Wars a lot because I work on it all day everyday but hereâs a bunch of other movies I helped put together the social campaigns for this year. Itâs been busy and a lot of fun.
Reviewed Metallica at the O2. I've been lucky to write for Kerrang! for most of my adult life & things like this still make me check myself & be grateful for the opportunities I get đ€
I put on a exhibition for Assassin's Creed Origins and it turned out GREAT đ«đ€đ»We got pro travel photographers to use the game's photo mode to take shots of 49BC and there was a 3D printed sarcophagus and all sorts.
If this book went on forever and ever I'd just keep on reading it. Loved mythology as a child and Americana as a teen so Iâve fallen pretty hard for it.
How is it already that time of year again? Hurtling towards another Star Wars campaign and this behind the scenes look marks another milestone in the countdown to December...
The dream commission for any hungry northerner (yeah, Iâve lived in London for eight years but once a northerner, always a northerner etc). I ate nothing but Greggs for a week for VICE. One of the funnest pieces to write and hardest pieces to research.
I spent my Easter weekend in Florida running the live coverage of the worldâs biggest Star Wars convention for the official Star Wars channels. It was intense and wonderful.
