Hi! My name is Irina. In this blog I will share results of the attempts of a reconstruction of a replica of the diary (journal) of John Winchester on what I was inspired by series "Supernatural" and couple of bloggers of creatingjohnwinchestersjournal and journalofawaywardson. Step 5 - Memories

John Winchester was once a soldier with the US Marines and served in the Vietnam War. From this time he kept some memento, like his badges and ribbons. When you flick through his diary, you will always find photos from this period. Through the hunt, John repeatedly comes across material that reminds him of cases or could be of some use. I did some research and picked out authentic photos from the time of the Vietnam War. Just as old faded photos from the 19th century or early 20th century. Even though business cards, motel brochures etc. - keep the spirit of the journal.

RU. В шестом эпизоде первого сезона "Дом" Сэму не дают покоя кошмары, в которых он видит старый дом Винчестеров. В блокноте мотеля он рисует дерево, стоявшее около дома.

Для моей версии реплики данной страницы потребовалось создать пустой макет страницы из блокнота, подобрать шрифты и перенести рисунок дерева на уже готовый шаблон.

EN. In the sixth episode of the first season "Home" Sam is haunted by nightmares in which he sees the old house of Winchesters. In a notebook of motel he draws the tree standing near the house.

My version was required to have remarks of this page the empty model of the page from a notebook, to pick up fonts and to transfer the drawing of a tree to already ready template.

RU. В общем создание журнала Джона Винчестера можно разделить на несколько частей. Первая, если ты решишься сделать обложку журнала сам, замечу это достаточно трудоёмкий процесс. Плюсом к работе, нужно достать материал: кожу и скоросшиватель на 3 кольца. На сегодняшний момент в России таких (на 3 кольца) нет (мои данные - узнавала у поставщика), если только остались у кого-то остатки. А заказывать за границей в количестве 100 штук, не очень резоно. Именно поэтому в моей реплике журнал будет сшит четырьмя кольцами. Второе, создание страниц. По-моему, этот процесс бесконечен, потому-что журнал можно постоянно обновлять новыми страницами о демонах из новых эпизодов СПН.

So nice to see the journal again this season in episodes 12.2 and 12.3. It certainly looks very “well loved”. Not sure how I feel about the fact that Mary took it with her though…
