Horrific. Anything less than consent is rape.
The first image is Thea Wellband, who plays the teenage rape victim in Unwatchable.
The second image is Rose, nine years old, who was raped so violently her hips are permanently damaged.
Well...the first statement is far from a guarantee. But fair point.
âBut men undoubtedly get screwed up by this stuff, too. Not screwed up as badly as women, to be sure... Â but not trivially, either.â
And the follow up piece.
Real things men said to us on the street.Â

Women donât owe you anything.
Not a hello.
Not a conversation.
Not a thank you (in response to your compliment harassment).

Paraphrasing Dave Chappelle, "crazy" is just shorthand for "I don't understand this person." This is a choice excerpt, asterisks added by me for emphasis. "More often than not, I suspect, most men donât realize what weâre saying when we call a woman crazy. Not only does it stigmatize people who have legitimate mental health issues, but it tells women that they donât understand their own emotions, that their very real concerns and issues are secondary to menâs comfort. ***And it absolves men from having to take responsibility for how we make others feel.*** "
Hey mami, I know what you want, mami Hey mami, I know what you want, mami Hey mami, I know what you want, mami Hey mami, I know what you want, mami
She walking so fast, she walking so fast, she walking so fast Oh our lady she don't know how she go She walking so fast, she walking so fast, she walk like a babe, hey Her image it lasts and I know, She floats along as she goes She owns the eyes as she flies right through the sound Moving her body all around town Hey, hey mami, hey, hey mami I know what you want, I know what you want, I know what you want Sooner or later the dudes at bodegas will hold their lips and own this shit Curlin their toes on a shivery tip But out here oh she don't know the gravity she owns As she pulls on the eyeballs of all the kids standing tall

While you probably know Terry Crews from Brooklyn 99, Everybody Hates Chris or his time playing in the NFL, you might be less familiar with his work as one of the most progressive and thoughtful voices in gender criticism. The actor--who just published the book Manhood: How to Be A Better Man - Or Just Live With One--recently took part in the What Makes A Man 2014: Maps to Manhood conference and sat down with Elamin Abdelmahmoud to discuss feminism, consent and what it means to "be a man" today.

Still think catcalling's an innocent pursuit?

This mythâthat feminine dress is primarily designed to attract male attentionâexists for a single reason: It enables the societal-wide sexualization of women. After all, if we believe that she wore a pretty dress today because she is trying to pique menâs interests, then suddenly catcalls, sexual innuendos and ogling seem legitimate (because she was essentially âasking forâ that attention). And if she says that she is not interested in a manâs sexual advances, well then she must be sending âmixed messages,â because she was clearly trying to âtemptâ or âteaseâ him given the way she was dressed.
Empowering Femininity
When you notice beliefs (in yourself or in others) that have no *clear* empirical evidence for them, always ask yourself, whose interests are being served?
