hey guys!
as promised, we’ll be opening very, very soon! we’re working super hard to finish up some templates (and with we, we mostly mean ali, cos she’s the coding queen) and everything else is all set.
we’ll be releasing the link to you guys in about an hour’s time. please keep in mind that some templates (think social media/development things) will still need coding when we open, but we didn’t want to keep you guys waiting!
so y’know, check back in about an hour and then we’ll get this show on the road <3

everybody’s mom/grandma, whether they like it or not. she’s great at listening, and her mouth is like fort knox. karoline gives great advice, most of it’s probably unsolicited, and is dependable. also, she’s an actual mother, and probably a grandma. has a ton of biological and adopted kids, bc she has so much fucking love to give. at least one of her children is a ranger, but others could be involved with ppdc. karol’s husband is a hippie, and probably also a scientist/cryptozoologist. her beautiful head is full of decades of wisdom, and scientific knowledge. she was born and raised in canada, but has lived in australia and japan before she moved to hong kong to work for the ppdc. she was part of the first team of scientists to research kaiju. fluent in english, french, and japanese; currently learning mandarin chinese. wine aficionado. though she has a brain, she never claims to be very smart, only knowledgable in the field she has studied for most of her life.
bautista cantu

he’s really good with computer stuff. like, i wish i had the vocabulary and knowledge to explain how amazing he is at programming and junk, but i’m nowhere near his level. bautista was born in spain, but his parents moved to croatia when he was still young. he grew up surfing, and laying on the beach. he probably has siblings, and they all argue all the time. when the neural bridge was discovered, tista applied to the ppdc. a big flirt, regardless of gender. ¼ of a relationship. lactose intolerant, but he fucking loves gelato (pistachio, motherfucker!!). secretly, he’s a great fucking cook, but doesn’t do it often – cleaning up afterward is a pain in the ass. speaks spanish, english, and is pretty fluent in croatian. doesn’t drink or use drugs, because he doesn’t like to feel out control. he’s a pretty friendly guy, and very charismatic. but can sometimes be stubborn and hot-headed. he tends to speak/yell in spanish when he’s pissed.

now that the entire admin team is back in their respective countries, we’ve got some exciting news for you. we’ll officially be opening tomorrow, sunday the 28th of august!
we haven’t decided on a time yet, because we’ve got some last minute coding and setting up to do, but we’re working our asses off and we absolutely promise you’ll get to see the site tomorrow.
we’re aiming for a relatively early opening time, certainly no later than 8pm gmt, though it’ll likely be well before that time.
we hope to see you all tomorrow and if you wanna get those early reserves in, go ahead and post some more dev things and we’ll reserve those faces for you! as always, any questions, comments or concerns can be voiced in our ask box.

british as fuck. raised in high society. one half of a set of twins. born to be a politician’s wife. military family going back generations. first female comstock to join the ranks. badass mother fucking fighter pilot. recruited by the PPDC to fly for them. decided she wanted to be a ranger instead. callsign - blondie; very original. hardcore badass with her copilot. fell in love (whoops). almost died. lost her jaeger (tempest invader) instead. offered a new jaeger if she moved shatterdomes, so she did. left her ex behind (except she still loves him). rockstar in the PPDC, trying to continue that.

basically drunk all the time. grew up in foster care with her brother. super codependent like what. joined the PPDC to follow in his footsteps. piloted a jaeger with him for a year before he was killed. lost her left leg below the knee. awesome street brawler, so now she teaches. generally a raging asshole. mean because she hates being close to anyone. don’t make fun of the carolina drawl. could kick your ass with only one leg and her eyes closed. also possibly while drunk. internally just a very sad puppy, okay.
NOVA CAMPBELL - 33 // weapons engineer \ priyanka chopra
so fucking gay, omg. mumbai native. IQ through the roof. too smart for her own good. finished high school at 16. has three degrees in engineering. likes to make shit go boom. recruited by the PPDC for her weapons designs. slightly socially awkward. makes comments about useless facts when she’s nervous. generally the smartest person in the room. one half of the most badass team of jaeger technicians you’ll ever meet. did I mention gay?
I need Benson, Audrey’s mentor/partner in Australia. They were partners for ten years. At first, Audrey resented, she didn’t need a baby sitter. But they grew close over the years. Too close. Audrey fell in love with him, and vice versa even though they never said anything. One morning, he left to become a Ranger without a word to Audrey, leaving her heartbroken.
Then she got transfered to Hong Kong after a fallout from a case and guess whose there? Benson! Cue all the angst and sorting out muddled feelings and attempting to get back together as friends and maybe more than friends if they just admit it already.

“Everyone wants to know more about you boys,” The interviewer leans forward, a flirty grin on her face. Charlie, beside him seems so at ease and he laughs an answer back. Fergus, mostly, wants to bolt. He’s never been at ease in public situations, not where he’s the focus of all the chaos anyway.

nova campbell, 33, weapons engineer, face tbd.
she’s always been far too smart for her own good. even as a child, she was always ahead of her peers. she’s the smartest person in the room at any point, though she’s always been good at hiding it when necessary. the concept of anyone who might be smarter than her is unfathomable, so she’s never figured out how to handle it. meeting her is strange. the other woman is just as bright - if not more so in some ways - and nova isn’t sure what that means. her whole existence as the smartest person, the woman with the highest IQ, is threatened by the appearance of the blonde engineer that shows up to work on the jaeger. she comes with every qualification one could imagine and a smile that makes everyone love her. she’s more comfortable with people than nova has ever been and it’s threatening - she’s threatening! nova doesn’t like her, she grumbles and is constantly determined to give her trouble and sass. of course, the grumbling stops when the little blonde corners her in the jaeger pod and presses their lips together and her hands are like fire on her skin and she knows that they’re better together than they’ll ever be apart. they’re the two smartest people they know and together they create the most wonderful mechanisms, saving lives and putting their entire nights into working when no one else will. and sometimes they almost tear each other apart with their egos and attitudes, but other times they just tear each other’s clothes off, because what’s fire without some gasoline to ignite it?

it’s so easy to hate the things that ruin your life. when they take the best things right out from under you with no regard for the damage it does. so it would be so easy for farrah to hate the kaiju for stripping away all she held dear, but she doesn’t. it sounds honorable and commendable, but that’s not it at all. she can’t hate them because she doesn’t feel anything anymore. she’d rather be numb than remember the pain of being ripped from a jaeger, the bond between brother and sister severed in an instant. she’d rather be numb than have to recall the pain of chunks of red hot metal searing into her skin, one large piece cutting so deep that there was no way to save the flesh underneath. it’s easier to be numb than have to remember the weeks she spent in the intensive care unit, breathing only because the machines helped her do so, alive but just barely. really though, she could handle all of that. being numb is really so she doesn’t have to think about those words they spoke when she finally opened her eyes and could lift her chest on her own, “we regret to inform you, your brother didn’t make it.” so she should hate the kaiju. she should want every last one of them to be torn apart, but that requires her to feel. so she drinks until the phantom pain of her missing leg isn’t so bad and the phantom pain of her missing brother … well, that’s the one that no amount of alcohol can seem to fix.

first up is nikolaos kyriakou (matthew daddario), younger brother of nyssa and her co-pilot in their jaeger. he’s a former olympic gold medallist and he’s still sorta proud of that. got disowned by his parents when he and his sis signed up for the jaeger problem. has a bit of a reputation for sleeping around. he’s terrible at relationships and only does them with guys, cos he’s figured out he’s into them more than girls. needs everything tbh. bf, flings, people who work on his jaeger, you name it!
then i have divya adhikari (dichen lachman), my lil’ doctor lady. she’s a mum and she has every part of her life figured out except her love life xD needs everything except a baby daddy! lovers, exes, co workers (she’s deputy head of medical at the shatterdome), all the thindgs!
and lastly is kimiko duffy (hayley kiyoko), she’s a reporter working for the ipa (an independent press organisation). born and raised in hong kong, grew up in foster care. very angry at the world, very very gay. needs a current girlfriend (though their relationship is kinda on the rocks), co-workers and everything else!!

nyssa kyriakou / 31 / ranger (phoenix machai)
stubborn, headstrong and no-nonsense, nyssa was raised as an athlete. the daughter of professional sports people, she was pushed to pursue archery from a young age, which she did, to the exclusion of all else. she represented her country, greece, at the 2008 and 2012 olympic games, winning bronze twice.
at the height of jaeger fever, nyssa and her younger brother both signed up for the academy, never expected to be paired together and then (surprise!) ended up to be drift compatible despite being total opposites.
her work ethic has never diminished, neither has the effort she puts into her training. but now that her goals have changed a little, nyssa finds herself a lot happier, if as straight laced as always.
what she needs:
literally all the things? i’m definitely up for her having a smol redhead girlfriend who gets her to smile, but other than that i’m keen on throwing her around. other rangers, people she’s know since forever, etc etc. also i mean, will always accept picspam as ship excuses. xoxo
