I once commited the “error” of listening to this song on my way back home, all alone on a quite night at summer’s end after a beautiful evening with some of the best friends you could ask for… it went right into my heart, pierced my soul and I was completely overwhelmed by the deep and sublime beauty of the words, the incredible space of its sound and the profound loneliness of its feel. I must have cried all the way along and to this day I don’t even know why. Was it sadness about the approaching end of one of my life’s most significant times? Was it the happiness of living it surrounded by meaningful people? Was it just the mistery that seems to dwell at the bottom of what we call our souls? I really don’t know, but I don’t care… I must have listened to this song hundreds of times again, and the memory of that feeling remains intact, the shiver of that moment, engraved into my timeline.

I must say, I’m happy to have lived in a time where I had the chance to come across things like these.

i LiKE TRAiNS → ‘Terra Nova’

The Terra Nova Expedition, officially the British Antarctic Expedition, was led by Robert Falcon Scott with the primary objective of scientific experiments, observations and gathering of specimens and the secondary objective of being the first to reach the geographical South Pole. Scott and four companions attained the pole on 17 January 1912, where they found that a Norwegian team led by Roald Amundsen had preceded them by 33 days. Scott’s entire party died on the return journey from the pole; some of their bodies, journals, and photographs were discovered by a search party eight months later.
