AMORES PERROS is a movie directed by Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu, Screenplay by Guillermo Arriaga and Cinematography of Rodrigo Prieto. The picture was presented in numerous film festivals, won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

The story is a bold, intensely emotional, and ambitious story of lives that collide in a Mexico City car crash. Inextricably the lives of three perfect strangers. Octavio, a rebellious adolescent who is secretly in love with his sister-in-law, dreams of escaping his miserable life, and for this reason, he enters reluctantly the obscure world of dog fighting with his lethal dog Cofi. And then unexpectedly, Valeria, a stunning woman and famous supermodel, will cross paths with Octavio, while in the meantime, her pampered little dog Richie manages to vanish into thin air in the confined space of her apartment. Lastly, Chivo, an ex-guerrilla vagabond, after abandoning his little daughter, unable to make up for lost time, he channels his love to the city’s strays and a mortally wounded Rottweiler. In the end, even though all the weary characters, men and beasts, wish for a bright future, in this life-changing journey in the pursuit of love, sometimes infidelity, sin and death can get in the way. A horrific car accident connects three stories, each involving characters dealing with loss, regret, and life’s harsh realities, all in the name of love.

maynila love story

In the beginning of the film, we see still shots of a black and white Manila, first in its quiet state, then gradually turning into a crowded, busy city.  There was no musical scoring for the first part, only sounds from the actual scene, which quickly establishes the reality of Manila and shows the evident sense of realism by the director, Lino Brocka.

  The story is a concrete depiction of the ills of city life. It strikes a chord in the heart of the Filipino as much as it did in the '70s, when the novel was adapted into a full-length film directed by the Lino Brocka.

 There are many things to love about Maynila sa kuko ng liwanag Lamangan’s musical stage adaptation. The opening number fulfils its purpose to set the tone so the audience understands what the play is about, and to get them hooked and make an impression. Credit goes not only to the actors but also to the ensemble, whose voices and dance moves fuel the number with explosive energy. It’s big, it’s splashy, and deserves thunderous applause.

Maynila is the story of julio madiaga ( bembol Roco ) journeys while wandering and living the streets of manila. He came from th probince to lookfor her girlfriend in the person of Ligaya Paraiso which was lured by a certain Mrs. Cruz to work in manila in exchange for money and education. The film has that certain episodic feel since it tackled many different social issues prevalent in our country.

Another challenge is that the story begins with Julio arriving in Manila looking for his beloved, Ligaya, but she only appears once in Act I. The rest of the act becomes a look into the lives of the people Julio works with and lays down the foundation of the realism of what it’s like to live in the city. 

The hero’s story, Julio looking for Ligaya, does not progress while a bigger story with interesting characters is unfolding in the whole of Act I. I feel like the play did not prepare me for this.

 The movie has a different interesting scene, every scene are very exciting to the audience because it shows in this movie the truth of life. There are trials come and sometimes it can not find a solution. I think many people can relate this movie because all of us have experienced the hardships of life also all the characters of  the movie Maynila Kuko sa liwanag have done their role well, the director, technical and other person involve in the movie, their cinematography by Miguel De leon, music, visual effects and Set design are stunning. 

The film won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor at the 1976 FAMAS awards.

Peace

Joyeux Noel is that  means Merry Christmas. The Christmas Eve truce actually happened, although not on quite the scale director Christian Carion suggests in his film, which was nominated for the foreign film Oscar this year. He is accurate, however, in depicting the aftermath.

 In the opening scenes of this French film written and directed by Christian Carlon, school boys in France, England, and Germany recite phrases they have been taught about the glories of their country and the scourge of their enemies.

In this brief scene we see how people are brainwashed to see war as just and to believe that God is on their side. Add to this the perception that by going to war young men are protecting their families and their land, and it's easy to understand the enthusiasm that can sweep through a community at the outbreak of conflict.

The movie is dedicated to all those troops on all three sides who joined in the fraternization of the 1914 Christmas front line truces.  

 They receive an award of Academy award for the best foreign Film,Gloden award for the best foreign Language.

Rent is a 2005 American musical drama film directed by Chris Columbus. It is an adaptation of the Broadway Musical of the same name.The film depicts the lives of several Bohemians and their struggles with sexuality, drugs, paying their rent, and life under the shadow of AIDS. 

Rent" is the sound of one hand clapping.

It is not a bad film. It may be about as good a film as the material can inspire. The performances have a presence and poignancy that can feel surprisingly real, given the contrivances of the story. The film uses many of the same actors who starred in the original 1996 New York production, and the newcomers, Rosario Dawson and Tracie Thoms, earn their roles. But if you stand back from the importance of "Rent" as a cultural artifact and a statement about AIDS.

This is the film version of the Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical about Bohemians in the East Village of New York City struggling with life, love and AIDS, and the impacts they have on America.

 The story is set in 1989, a time when AIDS provided the same kind of death sentence that tuberculosis provided in 19th century novels and operas. Through the story, characters remind each other, "take your AZT.

The movie was directed by Baz Luhrman, an Australian with a background in opera, whose two previous films were also experiments in exuberant excess.

The film stars Satine, a star dancer who has a deadly secret, she is dying because of tuberculosis illness, This is not a secret from the audience, which learns it early on, butfrom Christian (Erwan McGregor), would be writer who loves her. Toulouse-Lautrec, the dwarf artist, lives above Christian, and one day comes crashing through the ceiling of their flimsy tenement, sparking a friendship and collaboration.

The story is told through flashbacks from the point of view of Christian James (McGregor), a young Englishman writing the story of his doomed affair with the star of the eponymous Parisian nightclub.

The movie has a lot of celebrities, but the real star of the movie is the music. Luhrmann integrates rock music from a century later, including songs by Nirvana, Madonna, the Beatles, and Queen, among others, into the film and it works brilliantly.

This movie, though blessed with some stunning architectural design, never pays its audience the compliment
