Jonas rolled his eyes again, “Ah yes, the whole free will thing. Except God is supposed to be all knowing, right? At least that’s what I’d been told. So, if God already knows the outcome how much free will did I or any other person on earth have? So, that deal with the devil was something God always knew was going to happen, and if I had been - if my soul had been worth enough to him he could have intervened, but he didn’t. It wasn’t even like that was the only time I ever prayed to him and he didn’t answer me. Maybe I got fucking fed up with God never being there no matter how hard I fucking tried or believed. So, yeah, maybe it was easy reassurance knowing I wasn’t going to die, but at least it was fucking something, and not just silence from an asshole God who views the people on earth as nothing more than his playthings. You really think God doesn’t abandon people? Then where the fuck is he now?”

“You ever been in a battle? That kind of stabby stabby is fun.” It had been a while since she had been on a battlefield of course. “The best kind of death is one that is drawn out and they thank you for it.” Ruby smiled to herself. “I’m always proud of that kind.”

Jonas shook his head, “I can’t say I have. Not really one for that sort of thing anyways. Grew up in the aftermath of all that as a human, so I’ve had my fill.” Jonas knew not many of his kind shared the same sentiment, but he also sometimes felt he was still closer to his time as a human than most were, even if there were some things he couldn’t remember. “Do you get many of those kind?”

“All very nice additions,” He says, making the said items appear with a flick of a hand. “We should hurry though. Wouldn’t want the little ones to reach their bedtime before we arrive.”

Jonas looked over the new items with glee, picking up the chopsticks he spun them between his fingers like drum sticks before storing them in his back pocket in the same manner. He picked up the spatula and settled finally on the teapot as well. “Let’s go scare the shit out of some kids” Jonas smirked, before leading the way out.

He knew what that was like, he also knew he had failed in that duty. “Existing is sometimes enough to be condemned. To have your pathetic existence be the fault of god is almost laughable. No. You are Lucifer’s creation and his alone. You really think having your soul twisted continuously for centuries until you become a disgusting twisted remnant was gods choice? No. Lucifer does that. He needed his army and so he made you and yours. Place the blame where blame is due.”

Existing was sometimes enough to be condemned. That kind of thinking tracked when it came to the other’s kind. Judgement before anything had even happened. “You’re right. I am Lucifer’s creation, but he’s also the one that listened when I needed someone to. God didn’t. God abandoned me just like he’s abandoned countless others in this world before, and just like he’s abandoned everyone now too. Your kind included.”

Michael’s eyes started to glow blue. “You know, now that I think of it I really have no reason to keep you around. So wipe that ridiculous smirk off of your face.” If it were up to him he would burn every demon out of their shell but sometimes they were helpful, especially when it came to gaining power and influence.

“Whoa hey, calm it down with the glowy eyes.” Jonas said putting his hands up, “I have someone here that needs me. Not sure you know what that’s like. Besides, all I’ve done is exist. Which, by the way, is kind of on your Father or whatever the hell it is that piece of crap is to you angels.”

She giggled uncontrollably.  “Few days huh?  What’d you do.”  She walked inside, an awe on her expression as she looked around.  “Wow, this place is ritzy.”

“Oh you know little of this little of that. Sent them on a trip, you might say. Last time I checked it seemed to still be a pretty good one.” the demon started towards the kitchen, “they have a pool bigger than some of the places I’ve lived.” he pulled out some items from the liquor cabinet.

Michael chuckled as if he was in on the joke before he reached out, his finger tips against Jonas’ chest and pushed him back against the nearby wall hard enough for the bricks to crack a little. “I don’t particularly care about your fun. What you should care about though is staying inside of the vessel you’ve stolen. One wrong move and I turn that grubby little sludge you call essence into ashes.”

"ooo someone likes it rough” Jonas smirked a little as hit against the wall, “too bad pretentious assholes aren’t my type.” he was doing his best not to show any fear, knowing full well he was outmatched when it came to power.  “the suit and I are quite comfortable just the way we are.”

“Hmmm,” He hummed, making a show of being lost in though. “Maybe a spatula for comical reasons, or a hair dryer, or maybe even just shotgun plushie.” As he listed the items, he curled his fingers to make them appear before them - laid out on the table. “Any other suggestions.”

"The stabby stabby isn't as fun as it used to be." He had to admit, "they tend to die too easily that way, and I would much rather they not die because then that's less people for me to fuck with. Michael stepped in front of the demon, blocking his path. It would be easy for him to smite the little beast and rid the earth of it but purgatory was already open and the empty was filling up so adding another energy to the mix would just be the opposite of what he was trying to achieve. “I do hope your kind aren’t getting into any trouble here in town. The man didn’t have to stay a word for Jonas to know what he was. It was like it radiated off him, even more so than some of the other angels he’d come across before. This meant he must have been one of the higher ups. An archangel, perhaps. “Any trouble? At all? Well, where is the fun in that?”

“It’s been pretty the standard routines tonight so far” Jonas said, eying the bartender for a moment and making sure they were well occupied before hopping over to the other side. “What do you want?” he asked, already getting two glasses down. “I don’t think so” he said, answering as best he could about Ruby. “what have you heard something?”

"Lizzie!" Jonas smiled as he opened the front door to the address he'd given her over a text message. He took a step back to let her into the rather large house, "the owners are ..." he paused for a moment in thought, before finally settling on, "preoccupied for a few days."

Well, some of the them, at least. He laughs at the other’s committed acting performance. “And will you be playing any particular role?” He asks. “Perhaps their shining hero who comes to rescue them?”

The other was right, they could be fun to play with, though they tried to ruin Jonas’s fun more than he liked too. Usually claimed that they were right and justified in doing so. “Of course. Now what kind of mundane item turned weapon says ‘I’m the best at killing zombie puppies’?”
