“Yes, really. And I promise I’ll let you know if you ever do something wrong.” Softly, she brushed her thumb over the top of his hand. “As long as I get good grades, I’m sure it’ll be okay. Don’t worry, Jonathan.” His laugh brought an even bigger smile to her face. “Sure! I’ll probably end up getting something from SHIELD like my mom and I don’t even have a codename yet…but we can work on that together.”

"I hope I never do." He smiled slightly and laughed. "That's not possible, I'm always going to worry about you." His smile grew wider when she mentioned her costume. "I thought you were kidding but it makes me a little excited to know that you aren't. I can assure you, that you'll be the prettiest super hero out there."

Jonathan was stressed for school starting. He didn’t do particularly well last year and he wasn’t planning on going back to Gotham. While thinking about this he forgot where he was going and accidentally ran into a wall. “Damn.” He murmured as he looked around trying to figure out who saw it happen.

“Hey, you’re a great boyfriend. Don’t doubt yourself, okay?” Tilting her head, she tried to offer him a reassuring smile. “I couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend.” After he kissed her cheek, she couldn’t keep the smile off her face. “And everyday you prove that.”

“Well it’s just I have nothing to compare it to and even if I did I’d still be worried about not being the guy you deserve.” He started to think about his father, but tried to push it aside. “I just don’t want to let you down, but it’s good to know that I’m doing okay so far.”

“Okay.” Jonathan murmured before hugging her. “I feel a little guilty for not spending as much time with you as I usually do, but I’d love to spend the day with you.” He smiled slightly. “So I saw your mom, and I meant to ask how you are doing with that....whole thing.”

Audrey kissed him back gently, face feeling even warmer when she pulled away. “Well, you haven’t messed up around me so that’s something.” Leaning back, she continued to smile at him. “You don’t have to ask me, I’d do it anyways if you needed me. But I promise not to get in trouble if that’s what worries you.” She cared about him and wanted to show that, but the last thing she ever wanted was to be a source of worry. “Then we’ll have to get you a new costume, huh?”

"Really?" He asked not sure if she was just saying that. "Make sure to tell me if I do something wrong." Jonathan said squeezing her hand gently. "Well I don't want you to get in trouble in general, but I think your dad wouldn't appreciate you skipping class for me." The next thing she said made him laugh. "Well I don't know....Only if you get one too."

Her face lit up for a moment only to soften as he continued to speak. “Jonathan…You don’t have to be without me ever.. especially if you don’t wanna. I’m so lucky to have you in my life, you know that?”

He had never really opened up to anyone, except Audrey. So it felt nice to know she needed him as well. “Thats really good to know, especially considering I’m probably not the best boyfriend in the world.” But he did try to be. “If that is code for ‘I love you’, I love you too.” He gently kissed her cheek. “But I’m very lucky to have you in mine.”

He was bored and watching people react was one of his favourite things, so without a second thought he pulled the closest person into a kiss.

Jonathan watched as his brother kissed a random student in the hall. After a couple minutes he was beginning to get impatient. “Okay, move along. You’ll get another chance to kiss him later.” When they left he smiled slightly. “I was not aware you were here.”

Her face broke into an even bigger grin as she felt her cheeks flush. No matter how many times he used to word love when talking about her, Audrey always felt giddy. “W-well, it’s a good thing that I doubt you could ever upset me either, huh?” She tried to tease but her face still felt warm. “I promise that coming to find you after getting that text won’t be a bother at all. I wanna be there for you, Jonathan. No matter what.” She reached out to place her hand on his hand again until he pulled out his phone. “Oh I remember that story!” Excitedly she leaned closer and took the phone from him. A small giggle escaped her lips once she saw the picture. “I think you make a very good superhero.”

Audrey’s blushing made Jonathan smile more, if that was even possible. Something about the way she was looking at him, made him want to kiss her more than before. He inched closer to her and kissed her gently. “Yeah that is good, because I tend to mess up a lot.” He said with a goofy smile on his face. “Audrey you are always there for me, I mean even when I think about you my day gets automatically better, but I can’t ask you to skip class for me in case that happens.” Another reason he loved her, she always cared so much about people. “Yeah, I don’t know my costume is a little small now I think.”

“Still, If I don’t ever wanna make you feel uncomfortable or upset you. So if there’s something you don’t wanna talk about right now we don’t have to.” She smiled softly and looked down at their hands. “Alright, we can talk about something else even though not much has been going on with me. I’ll make sure that my phone is always on just in case you send me that text.” Looking back up at him, Audrey felt her nerves fade away. The smile that had appeared on his face reassured her and calmed her. “It’s a deal. And thanks, you’ll be one of the first few that see it.” The mention of games and pictures had her raising an eyebrow and giggling. “Really? What pictures would that be?”

“That’s the thing, I don’t think you could ever upset me, Audrey.” If she wanted to continue to talk to him about his nightmares or anything else, that was fine with him. “Its hard for the people I love to do that.” Then again he didn’t love very many people. “Well if I do send you that text, I don’t want you to have to go out of your way to come and find me. Especially if your in a class.” Jonathan knew she was a good student and didn’t feel like making one of her teachers get upset with her. “Well, I don’t know if you remember that story about me and that cape, I think I called myself flame boy.” He pulled out his phone. “Here is the picture...I know I look really dorky.” He said handing her the phone.
