Pretty green eyes look back at you and held such innocence that for once in your life, you would believe that, in such a cruel world such as this, there’s still an ounce of hope left. But then again, every good thing has to end sometime. Life for the brunette wasn’t always smooth sailing, what with her Father always being away for work and her Mother pushing her to her limits. She always had to do well in school, had to always keep her grades up, she can never do things that go beyond what she is told or else she’d get in trouble. And because of how bad she was being treated even after she had almost given everything her Mom asked to, she decided on going off her path a little bit and went out to have a drink with her friends, to keep her from throwing a tantrum due to all the stress she’s been in. Of course her Mother eventually found out and it escalated into a huge fight which ended up with her being hit a few times because she was, “an ungrateful, useless excuse for a daughter”.
Cass endured everything, the arguments, the yelling, the bruises she gets when her Mother hurts her, even the glares she receives when they’re alone. She didn’t mind that she was being hurt or always being scolded, she believed that it was just a bad day and not bad a life. But it got harder and harder for her to pretend that nothing was wrong, that nothing was even happening, it got harder to lie to herself that everything was okay. So being fed up with what her Mom gives her, she rebelled against her. Always going out without her knowing and coming home at the middle of the night drunk to her ass. Eventually her Mom found out and it escalated from being a shouting contest between the two of them to her only being able to walk with one leg. It was a wake-up call for her, to finally leave the place because it was getting so out of hand. So packing her things, and a broken leg, she made her way down to her car and drove off away from the hell she used to call home.
For once in her life, that was the only time she had finally let out a sigh of relief. Relived that she was finally free, relieved that she was finally out of danger, that she could finally stop feeling all the pain and suffering she had felt while growing up in that house. But even then, something has changed within Cassandra. Sure she had never been the happiest little girl, but back then she was happy. Now though, she was anything but. Miserable and lonely, she drowned her nights with alcohol and always woke up in a stranger’s bed that was her routine ever since she left. She tried to fill up the empty hole inside of her by ways that would bring her to extremes and eventually it turned her cold inside and out. Never feeling anything at all anymore, completely turning off her feelings, and even forgot that she actually still had a beating heart. But that’s the problem, she might have one, but she definitely acts like she was dead. Just a blank and indifferent stare coming from her, nothing more than that.
Cass never had a specific destination as to where she was headed after she left, all she knew was she had to get away and eventually she ended up in the town of San Francisco. Though she had quite a rough history, her credibility had never faltered and so she eventually found a job as a Physician’s Assistant and at the same time continuing her studies at the university majoring in Psychology. She hoped that the new environment could make her start anew and maybe finally find herself again. Even if it means losing a few parts of her along the way.
