More from the big Food For The Hungry project I had the pleasure of working on.
More from the Food For The Hungry project that Mr. @dougpenick commissioned.
I've been making a ton of fun stuff with a grip of awesome people. Here is a small piece of a much larger project for Food For The Hungry. Art Directed by my brother from another mother, @dougpenick
Taking some time today to reminisce with my mom and sister and celebrate the life of my dad, who passed away 17 years ago today. He was known as Big Mitch and was famous for being a tireless worker, yet had a way of turning relaxation into an art form. He was regarded for his skill and precision in the operating room, but couldn't keep track of his keys or wallet to save his life. He was the quintessential gentle giant, but loved to yell at the TV while watching basketball. He wore a thick black mustache almost his entire life, except for the time half of it fell off due to the radiation from administering too many x-Rays. He found ways to disguise his long hair while in the navy because he refused to trade in his feathered lockes for a crew cut. The best reference I can make for somebody that never knew my Dad is that of Clark Griswold from the National Lampoon's Vacation franchise. Which is part of the reason why I've always loved the movies so much. He was an undeniably sweet guy who loved his family and often found himself in ridiculous exploits due to an endearing lack of self-awareness in his own goofiness. And I'm proud to be his son, even if he wasn't around for as long as we'd hoped.
Made a snake on Sunday.
Thing I made today that I don't totally hate. Part of a large set of illustrated/animated GIFs I'm working on for my buddies at Tooth & Nail Records.
Crop of some new work for the #webbyawards and Vitamin T.
After more than two years of working out of coffee shops, utility closets, hotel bars and guest bedrooms I finally have a proper studio space again. It feels incredible to work surrounded by the things I love and find inspiring. Artifacts from my days at Fender, bikes given to me by clients, artwork created by my friends, a growing record collection, treasures purchased on our travels and of course my dog nearby. It's everything a guy could want. (at JonnyAshcroft.com)
Happy #RecordStoreDay! My dudes in Artifex Pereo released a special edition of their album, Time In Place, which I was lucky enough to do the artwork for. If you come across one be sure to snatch it up because the album is fantastic and this is a limited release and will go fast.
I'm going to be taking a little break from my #infamouslastwords project (posting consistently anyway) while I work on another personal project that is more time sensitive. With that in mind I wanted to throwback to my first piece and create another Saves the Day inspired headstone. This one references a track off of "Stay What You Are" that is likely the best damn tune about dying you'll ever hear. Thanks for following along and expect more pieces and prints later on. ✌️
"I hope I become a ghost, I hope I can see the end of time, I hope I become a ghost and make sure the future turns out fine" Inspired by my favorite track off The Deadly Syndrome's, The Ortolan. A fantastic band that apparently only myself and like ten other people have ever heard of.
"Don't go out tonight"
I'm looking to acquire some more #editorial clients so I put together this little promo to mail out. If you yourself are an #ArtDirector and would like one or if you know somebody that is and should receive one please let me know.
Getting back to it after taking a few days off last week due to travel.
