Oooh! The Webbies are out! @thewebbyawards Congratulations to all the pods I follow that got wins, nominations, and nods. I was gonna make a list of all the shows I listen to and what they got, but there are just too many fabulous casts to mention, so just ones I've already reviewed:
@realmmedia_ and @gabby3shabby for If I Go Missing The Witches Did It win in the People's Voice (scripted) fiction category! And Nominee, Podcasts, Best Writing 2022
West Cork from @audible, Honoree, Podcasts, Original Music Score / Best Sound Design 2022; and Nominee Podcasts, Crime & Justice 2022
Edith! from @qcodemedia , Honoree, Podcasts, Original Music Score / Best Sound Design
@tejanapodcast , Nominee, Podcasts, Scripted (Fiction) 2022
Dark Woods, Nominee, Podcasts Scripted (Fiction) 2022
Congratulations to all! May you have many more awards in the future!
So much to review, so little time.
Couple beefs with the Webby folk though. Your webpage is NOT optimized for mobile. This was indeed a barely functional nightmare of inescapable webpages, lists that scrolled to the top when I hit the back button, and a search bar that you can't leave once you search in it. Please fix it, I am begging you.
Also, any maybe this is just me, Actual play D&D, improvise/semi-improvised D&D campaigns ARE NOT, I repeat, NOT scripted fiction. They need their own category. Clearly they must be decently popular, but they need their own category. No matter how theoretically good an actual play/D&D type podcast is, it shouldn't be compared to real scripted fiction.
Folks, who were your faves this year? Who would you recommend? (TBH, there are a few faves on there I haven't posted reviews for yet, but I'd love to hear your choices!)
