Fuck every person that romanticized and hyped up Daenerys murdering thousands upon thousands of people. So many innocent people who had absolutely nothing to do with her ambitions and her situation lost their lives over a throne they didn’t care about. So many people were killed in the cruelest manner over a damn chair. Daenerys economically and socially destroyed an entire continent, and then proceeded to mass murder half a million people in another. She has always been a monster, and if you romanticized and hyped up that shit, it’s your fault.

What I love about this is, they are both still deeply traumatized at this point. This is Jon five minutes after waking up from the dead and executing the men who stabbed him to death. This is Sansa five minutes after escaping her torturing rapist husband. But you don’t see that in their eyes - you just see joy and hope and healing when they look at each other. They were so happy together.

She did what she had to do. She knew she wouldn’t be their queen because Jon’s secret was out and nobody would respect her, she had to do this, it wasn’t right and she didn’t want, but she had to. There’s a moment that we can hear she sighing after she heard the bells. She was preparing herself for what she was about to do, I still believe in her, I know it wasn’t right but I just can’t believe this is what she is now, the last episode will show us who she became and if it’s not Daenerys Targaryen, the woman who free slaves, so I will remember her just like she started: from nowhere, to the top of the world doing the good, being kind, ending the slavery, being the light who was ready to fight the darkness.

The only light Daenerys generates is fire. When she’s, ya know, burning people who don’t fear - er, RESPECT her enough. She wasn’t fighting darkness. She IS darkness.

It's been six months and I am STILL not over how badly D@ny stans interpreted this speech. This one couldn't even be bothered to write the whole sentence because it would indicate too much nuance.

Anyone with any ACTUAL comprehensive thinking skills understood that Tyrion wasn't arguing that these evil men deserved to live. Literally no one is arguing that those men didn't deserve to be executed.

Tyrion's argument is what those killings did to her psyche.

If trials were involved, if those deaths didn't involve waves of fire and massive bloodshed, if they were centered on the concepts of justice and honor, things would be different.

But that's not how she operates.

She burned people alive, and she starved people to death, and she fucking crucified people, all to raucous applause. At some point Pavlovian conditioning DOES come into play here. At some point making sure that each and every one of these men are evil becomes less important, and doing the thing that gets her applause and praise is the only thing that matters.

And THAT is Tyrion's point.

Not that those men didn't deserved to die. But that she associated violent killings with feeling good about herself so much that she is no longer capable of discerning who is or isn't deserving of it.
