He has worked in advisory positions at the United Nations and the New York Civil Liberties Union. It was a wet & cold @communitysolidarity Hempstead Food Share yesterday. But an awesome collection of caring volunteers still shared over 49,000 pounds of #vegan groceries & flowers with over 970 people!!!! Yesterday was our 313th food share of 2019, and like most of 2019 it was filled with hardships, and lots of hard work. Yesterday, just like everyday of the past year, this amazing community came together to get it done. There's something that happens at the end of every month at @communitysolidarity - our lines start to double. - We see hundreds of additional people at our food shares at the end of every month because the need is much greater. Whatever assistance people get, food stamps, Medicare, welfare, workers comp, all of it is give at the start of the month. It's all not enough and by the end of the month, all that money is gone! Yesterday, all the awesome volunteers at @communitysolidarity and I rescued and shared over 47k pounds of #vegetarian groceries, #organic produce and #vegan meals at the #Hempstead Food Share.
