Real Recognize Real - Hojin and Seungwon
hrxseungwon:
It was a bit unusual for him to speak to Hojin as if they had been nourishing a long-time friendship, but it was mainly the ballet that made him feel some sort of an inexplicable connection with the other. He assumed that during those years they both went through similar struggles and experiences, he had no idea what went behind the scenes in the younger’s life, especially when Seungwon had to walk off and leave this hobby dimly lingering in the background due to certain matters he was forced to square up to. He was curious whether Hojin continued to dance and for how long, though it seemed that just like him he again had taken it up after a break.
Quite a pity, honestly. Certainly he could go far and in this morbidly competitive environment Seungwon always found himself silently rooting for him. Hojin still had that spark to him and although he was a diligent ballerino, unlike many others he wasn’t a bland pushover who wouldn’t dare to have his way. The rest in the studio would probably disagree indignantly, but the man deserved praise for his unwavering determination.
With each next position Seungwon was feeling more and more confident with his moves, and thankfully the terminology hadn’t escaped his memory. He steadied his breathing and calmly went on with the port de bras until Primo Hwang’s dicta diverted his attention. Exhaling loudly through his nostrils, the specific comment was nostalgic in all the worst ways, but he let it slide.
He was ready to proceed, yet the question, or rather the prompt answer caught him off guard. His eyes widened and he could hardly suppress the simper. Out of all people he was glad it was Hojin who decided to step forward. So apparently that spark he remembered wasn’t ever put out.
Seungwon folded arms in front of his chest and his undivided attention settled on the male. The first notes played and he ardently believed Hojin would deliver the best of his skills, as well as his temperament.
[Trigger Warning: PHysical abuse] Hojin caught a brief glance of dirty looks and whispers about him of all people volunteering. He closed his eyes and exhaled deeply going through a quick run through of Primo Hwang’s movements. Opening his eyes he took the starting position and finding an opening with the music his body mirrored that of the instructors. Hojin was more stable given his size and that created a different mood than Primo Hwang’s. The music choice was a somber but that’s what he was aiming for. His previous years of the craft shined through, while it wasn’t an award winning performance his grasp of the basic and ability to execute them to near perfection was commendable. Finishing the moved Hojin took a bow then raised up. The room was dead silence which made him uneasy. Primo Hwang was quiet as he stood directly in of him then smacked him across the head. His reaction caught everyone off guard but no one said anything. “Your turn,” Primo Hwang instructed another ballerino, “You’re done for the day, go practice on the barre.” Hojin wanted to punch him right in the face but doing so would just give him wanted he wanted .He replied with a yes though there was a small smirk of his face when doing so then went to the barre. The young man blocked out what had happened a few moments ago he could think about it later so he for now he focused on keeping his back straight and not leaning forward. Hojin knew the end of class of near and left to go the bathroom to avoid doing reverence. “Maybe thing wasn’t a good idea. . .,” he thought as he went down the hallway.
