Crowful Quiescence - William H. Hays , n/d.
American, b. 1956 -
Colour linocut reduction on paper, 12 x 9 in .
There is so much quiet sublimity in the shapes that draw your chest; and so many stranded looks… in the restless sea of your kisses.
I never beheld a bonfire so radiant, of fire and passion, not a look, so subtle and perverse that resembles, - to the zenith of creation !!
There is a field of poppies on your disheveled cheekbones; where they sprout, beautiful stanzas radiating, “drugged poems”.
…And when the southern breeze blows, touching the watchtower of your palace, my senses “become avalanches”, burying with caresses… - your sacred mountain !!
Today, I wouldn’t mind dying… In the waves that carry your karma like a surfer, unafraid to feel the orgasms you treasure, - in your guts !!

Emilie Preyer (German, 1849-1930): Still Life with Plums, Grapes and Peaches on a White Tablecloth (via Lempertz)
From the auction house website:
Emilie Preyer began drawing and painting in watercolours as a child. Since she was a woman, she was not allowed to attend the academy and so she received her first artistic training from her father Wilhelm Preyer, whose style she adopted and developed further. Thus, she too preferred the still life genre with fruits and insects, but her colour palette is more rich in contrast, not least because she usually uses a white cloth as a background for her arrangements.
