“I really enjoy creating that experience, but in the present. That is exactly what I shoot. I’m asking myself, “What is making this experience what it is? What am I noticing?”. From the light hitting the sand to the largest clouds above. Pinpointing those tiny details that make a feeling a feeling.”
- Jake Stangel, Pop Foto (2013)
[Right] Dehne stands in his family’s old dilapidated farm house, a strong reminder of the generational legacy of Australia’s dairy industry. When the industry hands farmers hardships outside of their control, they often feel the pressure of successful generations before them, adding to the stress of staying afloat. [Left] High Street, Echuca, Central Victoria. From a recent in-progress project looking into Australian Dairy Farming.
Jared, photographed on his farm in Central Victoria, Australia, where he lives with his young family on their share-farm. The dairy industry is undergoing a period of intensive changes in Australia, and those changes have seen traumatic and long-standing consequences for its farmers, who continue to cling on and battle through adversity. From an in-progress project on Australian Dairy Farmers.
