Get Some Free Comics and Plug Into a Nerdy Community
It’s new comic book day (at least it is when I’m writing this) and I can’t wait to dig into to some great stories and pick back up with my favorite heroes and heroines! There’s something about super heroes, man. I think there’s something equally as awesome about serialized stories with those heroes. All in all, I think comics, and the heroes they are about, are quite dope!
Perhaps you are an avid comic reader. Perhaps not. Maybe you like the heroes that you’ve come to know through movies or TV. Either way, I think these days super heroes and stories about quests and triumph are bigger than they’ve ever been. In this time and age, where knowledge of Superman’s 75 year history becomes quality cocktail conversation, you had better stay in the know. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
I am a super big nerd. I’m also a writer of comics and a student of the craft. Fueled by a love of all nerdy things, I recently started a YouTube channel! On this channel, I talk about news and happenings when it comes to our pop culturally relevant geek culture. You may want to check it out if you want to be the expert the next time your friends go to see a Marvel or Star Wars movie.
Now, getting back to comics, I’m currently doing a contest during the month of September. It’s really more of a giveaway in which I select people who comment on my videos every week and give them copies of my comic book and an anthology of indie comic heroes from the Short Fuse Media Group! This line of comics is called “Heroes Ignited” and it’s a great collection of stories from awesome indie comic creators.
It’s super easy to enter the giveaway. All you have to do is be a subscriber to the channel and comment on a video. That’s it! I’m sure you’ll find some programing you like (or dislike if your one of those haters), so take the plunge and join this cool community called the Den of Nerds! I plan on expanding the programing and doing trivia contests to get more people involved! It’s gonna be super fun!
