Suppose I'd best say a little about myself 🙃

So I'm Josh, I'm 30. I live in Chesterfield which is in Derbyshire, England in the UK. I am someone living with ADHD, Autism (Aspergers to be exact) with minor learning difficulties and Dyspraxic tendencies.

I'm a massive nerd and I enjoy playing games like The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon and I enjoy watching shows like Dragonball.

I also get extremely anxious a lot and find it hard saying no to people which has gotten me into horrible situations.

I'll be pretty much posting whatever here, whether it be photos of my pets, memes or even anything that is on my mind at the time!

More than happy to sit and talk to people about their problems if it's needed!

So I learned recently that "body doubling" is a thing and that is essentially where someone sits with you (they don't have to speak to you and they can just do their own thing) and it can help keep you on task and keep you focused on it (a common problem for ADHD).

It can also be beneficial for those who are Autistic as it can help with reassurance, structure and help when overwhelmed with tasks.

I have both and this might just explain why I basically find it so difficult to function if I don't have anyone there sat with me.

People will often say I shouldn't rely on anyone else and that I shouldn't be "lazy" but my brain doesn't function the same way as most people and it's not just something I can just change as unfortunately, my brain isn't wired that way.

I just wished people were more understanding of this and understand that I'm often having to deal with things most "neurotypical" don't even think about or even deal with and then because I'm having a meltdown (which is a common fight or flight response for those who are Autistic) due to overwhelm (or ran out of spoons if you're familiar with the "spoon theory") I'm the one who ends up in the wrong because no one was willing to help me

There's someone who matches with me on practically every dating app I use but whenever I message them, they don't reply. What even is the point? 😂

I'm gonna be honest... since I've started taking my mental and physical health more seriously, I'm just finding more and more things wrong with me and it's extremely disheartening.

This year alone I've found out I've got a vitamin D and folic acid deficiency, IBS, Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria which is potentially complex due to trauma stemming from my experiences of the constant bullying I endured as a child and I've also found out that I'm potentially prone to cysts. What's going to be next?

I love being called a brainwashed clown and that I "still clap on a Thursday night and sing 'Happy Birthday'" when washing my hands for saying people are silly for turning off those government alerts like the one the UK got earlier and them thinking Facebook will be enough.

Really shows the character of people in the UK. I'm not a fan of the government because of the unfair treatment towards people with disabilities, I just wouldn't rely on Facebook because if the Internet goes down and something bad happens, there would be no other way to be told that something is happening 🤷🏻‍♂️

So I've learned of something called "Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria" or "RSD". Despite having rejection in the name, it can also manifest if a person has received criticism, been rejected, been disapproved of something or let others down and disappointed them.

It often comes out matching the perceived trigger which often results in intense or aggressive emotional outbursts, withdrawal of social situations, negative self talk (or self deprecation) and the avoidance of situations that might result in a person failing.

It is more common with ADHD but it can also be something associated with Autism but it is less common.

To be honest, this does explain a lot about myself and I'm hoping I can come up with strategies to help regulate and control those intense and often overbearing emotions that can occur because it is something that I hate having to deal with because it's not fair on everyone else being on the receiving end of the outbursts.

What sort of person would expect who gave them a roof over their head to pay back the board they were required to pay just for them proceed to blackmail them because they refuse and then they have the balls to they're tramps when they weren't the ones basically homeless and had no money whatsoever. Make it make sense please because I don't have a fucking clue.
