I started playing Dragon Quest 11 recently!
this post will have an audience of maybe five people but I think Lou Wilson and Travis Willingham play very similar roles at the D20 and CR tables respectively. They're team leaders above the table, very good at diffusing tension or amping their fellow players up, incredibly sensitive to what is needed at a given time. Those natural leadership tendencies make them good at playing more of an MC role within the game, but they're also good at taking a step back and letting other players take the reins. They're incredibly versatile as players, both in terms of being able to play comedic, dramatic and even tragic roles equally well - often embodying those characteristics *within the same character* and *within the same episode* or even *within the same scene* - AND they're very good at constructing characters from a mechanical standpoint. (Obviously CR is a bit more into the mechanics of actual play, and D20 is a bit more into the roleplay of actual play, but I think my point stands even when you take that into account.)
And I think because Lou and Travis are both so fun and funny and chill irl they get underrated for how fucking good they are at playing the game on every level. (This is part of why EXU Calamity is so great, because Lou and Travis are at the same table and you get to see them interact with each other and embody these roles, and see their compatibility and similarities as players.) Idk man they're just so good and so underrated for how good they are. If Lou Wilson and Travis Willingham have no fans I am dead

Don’t let me compare ffxvi’s clive and Joshua to tales of berseria’s handling of the velvet and laphicet relationship. I have already far exceeded my allowance for dunking on ffxvi
