Al-Hashr - 19
Listen to your heart and not your ego. Your ego prompts you to boast of vain assertions to obtain the glory of this world. Turn away from vanity and seek Him in the recesses of your heart and soul.
Abdul Qadir Jilani (rahimahullah)
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
The origins of wrongdoing are three:
1. Arrogance:
It is that which drove Iblees to that which it drove him (i.e. to commit that which Iblees committed).
2. Desire:
It is that which caused Aadam to be expelled from the Paradise.
3. Jealousy:
It is that which caused one of the sons of Aadam to transgress against his brother.
Therefore, whoever is protected from the evil of these three (traits) then indeed he has been protected from evil.
For disbelief is from arrogance; disobedience from desires; and transgression and oppression from jealousy.

You were created for Jannah. Your soul cannot find peace in this world as it can never become your home. The restlessness you feel inside of your soul is a reminder that you do not belong here. Just the way the traveller misses his home, such is the state of the believer in this- temporary abode. The believer can never find rest until they finally return back home, until they become the inheritors of Jannah.
