this monologue is one of my favorite moments in all of RTF history and it was one of the largest things motivating me to see this one through to the end. i find it just. so immensely funny with the context of everything leading up to it and how relatively contained chase’s performance as the devil was up to this point.

I was watching the most recent Yakuza 7 VOD before the Shadow dub premier, and during the pre-show you mentioned that two scenes from that dub which didn't reference each other accidentally created the most fucked-up lore implication. Having now watched the Shadow dub, I have absolutely no idea which scenes you were referring to. What were you thinking about when you said that?

SPOILERS FOR THE SHADOW DUB UNDER THE CUT IF U HAVENT WATCHED IT YET

So in the Chaotix flashbacks sections with the Heroes footage, we establish that Team Chaotix decide to work together 2 years ago and attempt to rig a presidential election in Shadow's favor so that he can make it legal for furries like them to vote.

All par for the course. And it's never really brought up again after it's established, so there are no details as to HOW they did it. Just that Shadow is president now due to conspiracy and espionage.

There are no details, at least, until you think about ONE scene earlier. Where I, as Sonic, tell Shadow directly that the only reason he became president mid-coma is because the rest of the candidates were all assassinated.

So, it's pretty clear what happened if you put two and two together. But if you want me to spell it out: The HILARIOUS implication is that Team Chaotix, after beating the shit out of Eggman, went on to assassinate an entire line of presidential candidates. Which we DID NOT intend, nor did anyone even realize was the implication until just recently.
