Along with my Black Dress Project today, mom took a few photos of me on the dock. The first series of photos is of Woodford and me, and they all pretty much describe the relationship he and I have.

The second series are some of my favorites from today. Even though Mom just does photography as an occasionally hobby, I’d say she did pretty good! As for me, I think I’ll stick to being behind the camera!

I had my first shoot in the Black Dress Project today. It was an impromptu shoot, but it was exactly what I had hoped for (except getting eaten alive by no-see-um’s).

My mom is the first model in the project - a woman who has inspired me and allowed me to grow into the person I am today. I am so happy she agreed to model for me! Thank you Momma!

I am DYING to do a photography project for 2015. I have been trying to think of something different, but something that would mean something to me and also inspire others. It’s going to be a challenge to pull it all together, but if it works I think it could be absolutely amazing. So here goes nothing:

Every month, I want to photograph a girl. A girl wearing a gown – it’s a black gown that I found at a vintage shop back in September. The difficult part of this challenge is going to be finding the models and getting them to agree to it. I want to photograph girls who have suffered from depression, an eating disorder, or something of the like so I can make them feel beautiful. I would love to find a makeup artist that would be interested in collaborating in helping these girls feel beautiful and confident in themselves.
