hello hello laurie (theacetiny) here!!! from here on out ill be talking in purple. this rp blog is for jude!

jude will be talking in normal text color and actions will be in italics. like me, he's not a very sociable person so it might take me time to reply and post any asks because im curating the best reply possible. pls absolutely feel free to send him asks though!

i am NOT british i will get certain things wrong

additional jude info:

his curse is that he can absorb and give out stress (imagine a throbbing kind of migraine-y pain) when his skin touches someone else's so he doesn't really try to get close to people much, if he has too much stress and he can't release it, it'll lead to physical side effects

he's raised catholic but in a few years he'll be agnostic

he's supposed to be a second year, but his parents didn't bring him for his first year so his aunt had to get him from his home and get him to st churnleys, but since they don't have the same curriculum as other schools he has to start as a first year

Nice to meet you, name's Jude. You'll have to stay a few feet away from me, though, cus I could give you a nasty headache if I touch you..

Samuel sees Jude floating away from others at the edge of a crowd and moved towards him. "Hey there. Got a people-related curse?" (He looks positively chalky, and there's blood all over his mouth that he's hastily wiped away.) - @blood-of-the-covenant-runs-thin

Once Jude realizes he's being talked to, he perks up a little.

Oh! Hi... Yeah. I do. Is it obvious?

He pauses for a moment and observes the boy in front of him quietly.

Are you.. okay?

(Samuel offers Jude a small grin.) "Don't worry, I can only tell 'cause I have one too." (He watches Jude's expression change with interest and then checks himself, realising what he looks like.) "I'm fine. It's part of my curse, all the blood." (He gestures vaguely at himself.) "That's why I can't stay around people, I cause them blood loss by being near them." (He catches himself and extends his hand a little, almost like a handshake.) "I'm Samuel Seki, and you can call me Seki if you wish."

It's nice to meet you! You can call me Jude.

He hums as he listens to Samuel explain his curse.

Ah.. I see.

He extends his hand.

I think.. if it hurts, I can try something..? If you want of course. It's got something to do with my.. curse.

He hesitates, and you can hear an attempt to replace the word curse with another word.

(Samuel's eyes narrow at the hesitance, but he offers reassurance.) "I like to call them 'skills' sometimes, for people like you who can use them." (He notes the faint purple in Jude's veins with interest.)

Skills? Sounds.. nice.

The purple in Jude's veins moves around as he flexes and unflexes his hand.

It's.. something like a gamble. If I touch you, either I absorb your pain or you absorb mine, so I understand if you'd be hesitant, but I have more control with absorbing, so it's not so much 50/50 anyway.

I don't want to force you, just.. don't want to see someone in pain knowing I can do something to help. It's up to you.

He realizes he says too quickly so he clears his throat. He starts again.

Sorry. I think.. I can handle it. I've got experience so it shouldn't be too bad for me. I'll just try to focus more than I usually do so I don't risk hurting you.

(Samuel notes Jude's reaction with mild concern.) "I'm sorry if you get hurt, then."

Oh, no need to apologize. It's a risk I'm willing to take.

Jude has his hand out in between the two.

Well, whenever you're ready.

(Samuel reaches out his hand and clasps Jude's hands.) "Whoa..." (He can still feel nausea from the blood roiling in his gut but for once the cramps don't feel like they could rip him apart from the stomach.) (Some of the pain sets back in, but Samuel has never known peace like this before, and he feels unendingly happy.) (He remembers Jude.) "Are you okay?"

As their hands make contact, bright purple flows from Jude's hand towards the rest of his body. The strength of the pain sends him staggering back a few steps.

After a few seconds, he appears to be recovering from the initial entrance of the pain. He hides his clenching fist behind him as he speaks.

Are you.. feeling better?

He tries to get the words out as smoothly as possible, but it takes him a few pauses and breaths.

Whew!.. You must.. must be a really strong person.

Can we have some origami paper? We want to make some decorations!

They do, but they apparently can't do origami.

Yeah but you can!

I'm sure I can find you some origami paper.

Thanks so much, Mr. Hebden!! No problem, kids! Mr. Hebden goes off to some cabinet and starts searching paper. After a few minutes, he is able to find a stack of origami paper. Here you go! He hands the stack over to Noel.

Jumping frogs, bats, stars, you name it and if I don't already know it, it's probably in my book.

Oh, that's really cool! Do you know how to make a spider? I was planning to make one of those but it's up to what you know. Is it even possible to make one..??

I think that I can, it may not be great and I don't think it's in my book, but I can try.

*Leon opens the door and they both go in, Noel puts the paper down on his bed*

What am I starting with?

Jude follows inside and finds somewhere on the floor to sit down. He picks up a piece of paper.

We should start with something you're familiar with. What did you say a while ago, like a bat or something?

Yeah we can start with a bat. Do you want me to teach you or do you just want a few?

I think we want to learn, right, Jude?

Oh, yes! Please teach us! You know what they say! Err..

He spends a moment recalling the phrase.

Ah! Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

*Noel goes through every step slowly with Leon and Jude copying, this takes around 15 minutes*

After 15 minutes, the boys are finished with one each. Jude's bat is a little crumpled and ripped at some of the edges and points.

Woah, Noel! Yours looks amazing! I've.. certainly got more practice to do..

Do you want me to make you some more?

Ooh yeah!

*within a minute there are 2 more origami bats, Leon was staring in awe as they were made*

He is slightly overwhelmed at the speed Noel is making the bats at. By the time Noel finishes two, Jude has finished making a singular fold on a paper.

How long have you been doing origami for? You're like.. crazy good!

Not too long. I mean I'm sure there's other people in this school who can do it faster but...

Oh, I forgot about that, um. I don't mind, just something you think I might like. If I don't like it I'll give it to Leon.

Okay, just answer this for me, then— Would you prefer sweet or something like savory instead?

Probably savory. I like spicy things if you can make something like that?

He studies a lot, he's really good at trivia too, anything information related really. He's always been better at that than me, but I'm better at making friends.

He fidgets with a piece of scrap paper, folding and unfolding one of the corners.

He spends a moment recalling the phrase.

*Noel goes through every step slowly with Leon and Jude copying, this takes around 15 minutes*

After 15 minutes, the boys are finished with one each. Jude's bat is a little crumpled and ripped at some of the edges and points.

Woah, Noel! Yours looks amazing! I've.. certainly got more practice to do..

*within a minute there are 2 more origami bats, Leon was staring in awe as they were made*

He is slightly overwhelmed at the speed Noel is making the bats at. By the time Noel finishes two, Jude has finished making a singular fold on a paper.

How long have you been doing origami for? You're like.. crazy good!
