yoooo! this is so crucial to the african diaspora. i was roasted to an inch of my life about the english tones when speaking kiswahili. it hurted. i already felt like an imposter. “don’t let them discourage you” is it.

my folks were all kinds of annoying about my american accent when speaking twi but i realized you cant walk around with an african ass last name and say “nah im american my parents are from overseas” without sounding like a dumbass.
