This one is different. This kind of contentment is beyond the pictures in my head. When you thought of yourself in the future, did you picture sitting on the high line, facing the sunset, on a beautiful 67 degree cloudless spring day? This is your city. From reflecting on the struggles and craziness from work, to being able to find solace in sitting on a bench on the high line with during twilight. I feel like the world is at a pause. The sky is moving slowly and the people walking are quiet. It's a nice kind of quiet. From always being surrounded by loud chaos of Times Square, this kind of movement of people is relaxing. As time passes, the color of the sky changes, and the angle of the sun hitting my face moves. A euphoric drop in temperature fills the air and you're just sitting there, taking it all in. Inhaling and exhaling even feels good. The crowd of people becomes less and the city begins its time to "wind down". New York City really is like a clock in its own. You don't want this moment to end because knowing you have to go back to the routine of work tomorrow gives you anxiety.
(Not sure when I wrote this but must be 2017)
