I can't stop thinking about a bridgerton x jurdan au where Taryn is debuting to find a husband and jude is overseeing her season but has no plans to debut herself. Taryn's poise and grace during her introduction to the queen lead her to be chosen as the Diamond and everyone expects her to get engaged to prince Cardan who has joined the season as well for the first time.

Jude is skeptical of him because of his rebellious behavior when they went to school together, and she has heard rumors of him being a rake so she tries to subtly see for herself if he would be worthy of Taryn. However, when she overhears him talking to some people about how he does not want to get married to Taryn, she thinks the rumors were true and does everything she can from that point to prevent their engagement.

But the truth is that he was forced to start searching for a wife by his father who just wants to marry him off so he no longer has to deal with him, and the Queen insists he pursue her Diamond. Meanwhile, Cardan does not want to marry Taryn because he has a huge crush on her twin, Jude. At first, he was reluctant to court Taryn, but when he sees how much it provokes Jude, he becomes unrelenting, having too much fun annoying her and liking being able to spend more time with her.

And there is a bunch of bridgerton-esque drama like heated ballroom dancing, proclamations of passion, being caught in compromising situations and being forced to engage.

I find it fascinating that Cardan's room in The Cruel Prince was undecorated, messy, and depressing, whereas his room with Jude in The Prisoner's Throne is decorated with tapestries and brocades. There's a psychological theory that suggests your room reflects your state of mind, and I believe these small details offer insight into the characters. It illustrates the growth and development of Cardan's comfort with himself in many ways as well as his deepening relationship with Jude, especially given that they have shared a living space for 10 years now. I think it's very adorable. In TCP, we know Cardan was going through it. Drinking, while facing abuse by his brother and being unloved by his family. VS in TPT where he's loved by the kingdom has a family and a wife that adore him. Cardan is ultimately one of the most surprising characters that really figured himself out and grew comfortable with himself.

Idk, just cool small detail I noticed. His room VS his room with Jude...I miss Elfhame.

Cardan being concerned for Jude will never get old

His eyes narrow at the blood, and he points the wooden stick at me. “You seem to have cut yourself.”

Cardan not going after Jude during her exile always makes me cry because the only reason he wasn’t is because he wanted to respect her wants and autonomy so bad. He didn’t want to make her come back if she didn’t want to, didn’t look for her because he genuinely believed Jude would come back if she wanted to be found. And again it’s just so in-character of him to automatically think she’s just found something better than him because no one ever willingly picked and stayed with him when they had a choice so why would she?
