I know your secret~
âOh, is that so? Iâm calling your bluff.â Anderson crossed her arms over her chest, not believing a word of what she heard.
â
Andersonâs tongue darted out between her soft lips, dampening them in anticipation for what she was about to do. Kissing him always sent her heart racing. Grudd, anything to do with Dredd made her light headed, heart race, and set the butterflies in her stomach airborne.
Pushing back any second thoughts she might have, Anderson leaned forward on tippy-toes and brushed his lips with hers. It was a proposition, open for him to return the careful-kiss, but there was longing in the linger of her lips against his.
Truth be told, heâd been paying more attention to the reports in his hand and less to the blonde telepath in front of him. Dredd nearly dropped the tablet when she slipped into his personal space and brushed her lips to his, feather-light. He understood the question in the action, taking only a half moment to set the datapad down on his kitchen counter behind him.
A low rumble stirred in his chest as he slid his hands up to cup each side of her face, tilting her chin up towards him again. Itâd been a while since heâd allowed himself this lapse in judgement, allowed himself to break regs just because she was here in his space and real in his hands.
So he indulged her, returning her kiss with an equally gentle one, thumbs stroking over her cheekbones.Â
Dreddâs response to her kiss was exactly what she had hoped for, whether she knew it or not. His returning her kiss was enough to spur her into further action. Anderson wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled him closer, not wanting to lose him, or this moment. She deepened the kiss, putting more urgency into it, knowing that at any moment they could very well get called for help with potentially troublesome situations.
He let her lean into him, shifting his weight back against the counter to catch his balance. Fingers slid around the side of her face to the back of her neck, tangling themselves into her hair while he found himself hoping for once heâd get the full use of his off-duty hours. Most days he waited for a call to jump on, but today? Heâd take a couple hours of this if he could get it.
âAnderson,â he murmured against her mouth, half smiling even through faked annoyance, âNot in the kitchen.â
She couldnât help the laughter that bubbled up. âYeah, I missed you too.â Anderson remarked sarcastically as she pulled away just long enough to focus her gaze on his mouth, memorizing every detail, as she had done so many time before. She truly had missed him, though she did every time they were apart for any amount of time. somehow he had managed to light up her dismal world with his dark humor and broody attitude.
âWould you rather the floor? How about the couch? Or perhaps the bedroom?
â
âAnd here I was beginning to believe Iâd never see you again, Judge Lady. Suppose I have the right to remain silent, and kiss you.â, Batmanâs low tone addressed the blonde Judge as he approached her, attempting to keep his expression casual, in spite of what he felt. He took her hand, pulling her close up against him, enveloping her in his broad arms and leaning down, kissing her with built up passion that had been missing since she left. He kept his arms around her form when he finally drew back his face from hers reluctantly. âWelcome back. Am I under arrest?â
A flood of emotions washed through Andy when she heard his voice. Bruce. Her Batman. After such a long time, she was able to be with him again. Finally, she could run her fingers through his soft hair again. To feel his lips on hers. His hands on her body. Feeling his fingers entwined with hers, and their lips touching sent a sizzle of electricity straight through her. Oh, how she loved this man. Breathless, she said âI thought Iâd never see you again, as well. I suppose the only form of detainment for you would be to keep you in bed all day and night, against your will.â
âI wonât go quietly⊠but then, I think youâd prefer it that wayâŠâ, Batmanâs low tone murmured into her ear, pressing his lips to her neck, kissing along it as his hands moved up and down her back. His heart beat quicker within his costume, and his kisses grew more firm, heatedly biting slowly along her flesh. âDo your worst⊠who am I to argue with the law? Hope you brought your handcuffs. We have lots of catching up to do.â
A shiver of anticipation ran down Anderson's spine. His kisses turned love-bites left her wanting more. "Yeah? Well I hope you don't have any plans for the next day or too, since we have so much lost time to make up for." She whispered between moans.

//GUESS WHOâS BACK. BACK AGAIN.
Mistaken Identity //Open
Rico listened carefully, not dropping his guise for a second until the door shut. It was then that he let out a sigh of relief. This was getting way too close to his getting caught for comfort.
He opened the report again, quickly scanning until he found the list of names. Careful to make sure there was no trace of it ever being there, he removed it, folding it up in his palm. The rest of the file he put back down on the table right where it had been before.
With not a trace left of his presence beyond the missing report page, he left the apartment, the folded up paper fight in his palm. While the plan hadnât gone ideally, at this point it seemed like it would work out.
Until he saw Anderson coming towards him.
"Forget something, Anderson?" he asked, doing his best to keep his face neutral.
With a stony face she replied, "As a matter of fact, yes."
Anderson closed the distance between them with a few quick strides, grasped his forearm and attempted to pull him along with her down the hall. "I think we should take a quick lunch break. And don't even bother arguing with me about how we need to be reporting and taking cases, because i've already reported back and requested half an hour for lunch. Hershey approved." she stopped and turned to look at Dredd, smiled, and continued down the hall to the elevator.
"If you look like this, Iâd hate to see the other guy."
"You can go visit him down in resyk if youâd like."
If he was being totally honest with himself he probably should have gone to the med ward after this shift. He should have. His body was sore in places he had forgot existed; the perp had been almost a foot taller than him and a hell of a lot heavier, too.Â
"He was⊠uncooperative."
"Yeah, you are pretty old. Iâm surprised they havenât retired you yet." Anderson teased back, swiping at the blood spatter on his neck.
"Excuse you,â he grunted, hand closing around her arm as she reached in, âThatâs no way to speak to your superior officer.â He tugged gently, and although it was a simple action it was still laden with intention. The movement sent another dull wave of pain through his arm. Probably pulled something trying to wrestle the perp into submission.
To the untrained eye, it would have gone unnoticed, but Anderson caught the ever-so slight twitch of Dredd's jaw muscle. Obliging the injured Judge, she leaned in closer, only closer than he had intended, and whispered in his ear.
"Careful, Judge, you might bite off more than you can chew."
"If you look like this, Iâd hate to see the other guy."
"You can go visit him down in resyk if youâd like."

"He was⊠uncooperative."
Dredd almost balked at what she had said; it took an unusual amount of control to contort his face back into an almost painfully neutral expression. âThatâs against regulation,â he rumbled quietly, the softer tone betraying his relatively good mood, âI wouldnât know anything about that.â
She stopped cleaning and pulled away to look at him again. Raising one delicate eyebrow, Anderson slowly nodded her head and said âSuuuure.â, drawing out the word for emphasis.
"Watch the tone," he rumbled, "Remember youâre speaking to a senior Judge.â He couldnât pull the rookie card on her anymore; not after how much theyâd put her through already⊠but he could pull rank to tease her all the same.Â
Not that it usually worked on Anderson, though. Dredd tilted his chin so she could get at the smear of blood on his neck.
"Yeah, you are pretty old. I'm surprised they haven't retired you yet." Anderson teased back, swiping at the blood spatter on his neck.

"Oh, okay."
Sensing something was off about Dredd, Anderson made a mental note of it. There was a more aggressive air about him now, more so than usual. And although there was nothing physically different, the mental state screamed louder to her than anything else. Such as: why was Dredd picking up the files, when the last time they had talked he was half way across the city? And, Anderson didnât recall him telling her anything about the digital copy being damaged. Hell, he hadnât even finished the write up.But, in an attempt to remain oblivious, she played along.
"Do you want to pick up some Chinese tonight before coming back to finish up the paperwork?"
Rico mentally cursed his luck. Joe had never had anyone he was that close with before, which made imitation easy. This made it that much trickier, and he could feel the probability of getting caught rise.
He couldnât agree to the offer and pass the message along to his brother as if there had been a mix up with control and he got it by accident. Anderson could mention meeting him earlier which would tip Joe off. But going in Joeâs place was dangerous, since it gave Anderson more time to pick holes in his imitation, and even if he managed that, Joe would find out later when paperwork was finished that he never touched.
Frankly, he was fucked.
Even so, he wasnât yet giving up. He settled on grunting noncommittally before saying, âWeâll see. Figuring out what happened to the evidence could take a while. Might take a night shift to make up for the lost time.â
Anderson pursed her lips in thought. "Alright, well if you get hungry later just give me a shout and we'll meet up."
She turned on her heel and headed for the door, keeping a steady pace. While Dredd was working on that, she would have time to do her own investigating.
Stopping half way down the hall, Anderson realized she was being silly. Sure she had a hunch that something was wrong with Dredd, but she had come to learn, over the years, that it was best to just trust him. And thats exactly what she was going to do.
Turning around, Anderson began walking back towards Dredd's apartment.

Anderson swiped the keycard at the front door to Dreddâs apartment. He had given it to her a few months back, in anticipation that she would run errands back and forth if he was unable toâŠand because they had been working cases together late into most nights.
She walked through the spartan halls, knowing every corner, every detail. Arriving at the kitchen doorway Anderson could see Dredd standing near the kitchen table. âI thought you said it would be faster if I picked up the files and brought them back to you.â she said, slightly confused.
Rico heard the opening of the front door, but the relative quietness of the steps suggested someone smaller than Joe. The security of this apartment was high enough that he doubted it was an intruder, although he was hard pressed to imagine his twin to trust anyone enough to have access to his home.
Nevertheless, Rico picked up the folder and opened it, to appear as if he had been reading it when the guest came in. He turned towards the doorway, face stoic, as he considered the judge before him.
Her badge read Anderson. He had heard his brother had picked up a work partner by that name. Never knew how pretty she was.
It was time to put his imitation to the test.
"Problem with some of the evidence. Digital copy of some of the paperwork we found was corrupted, physical copyâs missing." His lips curled a little further down, doing his best to look annoyed with incompetence. "Control asked I bring the copy in the report down. Forgot to tell you to not bother picking it up.â
The best place to hide a lie was among truths.
"Oh, okay."
