On Dec. 10, 2016, the Latah Railway (a local model railroad society) had their annual Open House at the Latah County Fairgrounds, featuring a large HO-scale layout, an O-scale layout and an N-scale layout.

Convergence, July 5, 2013. Camas Prairie Railroad Bridge 20 and US-95 in Lapwai Canyon, Idaho. Taken on a bike trip.
The railroad used to be used to carry grain to Lewiston aand elsewhere, but by the '70s this traffic was diminished in favor of trucks on the newly improved highway.
Eggnog Recipe (Maple Edition)
JuDGe3690's Eggnog Recipe
1 dozen eggs, separated (whites in small bowl, yolks in large)
2 quarts heavy cream
1 pound confectioner's sugar
1 bottle maple syrup
1L (minimum) Canadian whiskey (I use Black Velvet, and it tastes great mixed in)
Directions:
Beat egg yolks in large bowl with wire whisk until light yellow in color.
Add in sugar and 1/2 cup maple syrup to start; mix thoroughly.
Slowly pour in 2 cups whiskey, stirring constantly.
Cover and put in fridge for one hour to dispel eggy taste and let the alcohol do its job.
Add in heavy cream, plus 2-4 cups of whiskey (a 1L bottle will only have 2 cups left; you'll need a 1.75L for the full four cups). Sprinkle in some nutmeg, allspice and cloves to taste. Taste for sweetness/flavor and add more maple syrup if needed.
Cover and let chill in fridge for 3-4 hours.
Before serving, beat whites until dry but not stiff; fold into eggnog (this gives a light, foamy creaminess to the whole thing).
Serve in mugs, topped with freshly grated nutmeg if desired.
I served this recently at a party and it was a huge hit, even with people who don't normally like eggnog. Adapted from the JOY of Cooking.
