Then and Now- Circa 1960 and 2020.
Switching the spur to the American Thread Company in Sevier-North Cove and what it looks like today.
This railroad trestle was constructed across the North Branch of the Catawba River, just below the point where Armstrong Creek joins the stream.
The railroad siding connected with the main line of the Clinchfield Railroad and provided rail connection for receiving bulk raw materials and the coal from nearby mines, and for shipping finished products from the American Thread Company.
