Chara...?:

INTERESTING . A HUMAN && a MONSTER — sharing ONE body ?? Chara didn’t know such a thing even EXISTED . The FUSION reminded Chara of the two BEINGS they LOATHED most ; the IDIOTIC emissary of MERCY , && the INCOMPETENT reaper . It made them WONDER if this was yet another FAILED creation by their so-called MOTHER . ’ WELL ?? Aren’t you at LEAST going to say HELLO ?? ’ A CHUCKLE escaped the CORRUPTED child’s lips . This new OPPONENT of theirs didn’t really SEEM like the SILENT type . If ANYTHING , it LOOKS almost as if they were simply too INTIMIDATED to TALK .

There was something entirely disquieting about this scenario. For one, this was an alternate of, who they assumed, was Chara. Second, there was almost some sort of presence to them. Not one they’re used to, one that maliciousness practically wafted off from.

“ Hello, ” they responded, gaze directed towards them and stance partially shifted into an offensive one. Being cautious wouldn’t hurt anything, right?

“ That’s... not really what happened either, ” they comment, albeit much more quietly as opposed to how they spoke at first.

“ I mean your outfit. ” They point a finger, gesturing at all the color differences between their own attire and Sans’. “ Why the golden tooth though...? ”

“ ... Wrong, ” comes the answer after a pause to cock an eyebrow at him. “ What’s up with you thought? You look... super dark. ” Yes, perfect wording there.

↳Aɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ it is. The infamous question (sort of), the novelty of the inquisition on one topic had run d r y now. It was mundane these days. And Frisks answers was close to pre-written and exercised often.

That definitely was an unnecessary question to voice. Gaze softened quickly, focus to the ground out of what could be read as shame. Even so, face covered with flowers or not, they knew this was an alternate of theirs.

Frisk?:

‘ Well… ’

She trailed off, staring at the other’s confused expression. She didn’t think anybody else was around, what with the way the world was.

‘ The worlds kinda.. fused. The core went all out of whack and fused them together.

The staring gets to them rather quickly, gaze shifting to the ground. There’s a silent ‘do i do that?’ (which ends up going without a response) before they perk up at the other speaking.

“ That’s… really not good-- ” How else are they supposed to respond? Their surroundings are an absolute disaster, Frans’ stomach churning slightly. The Core… how do you even fix it?

Chara:

The being steps into view, and Chara feels a pressure in their chest. They don’t know how to react to this. It’s like if Frisk and Sans had a love child, which was gross to think about, but this thing looked like some sort of fucked up joke. A joke that gets Chara laughing. They laugh and laugh and laugh. Tears start streaming down perpetually blushing cheeks.

…

But they don’t find this funny.

“Wha- What happened to you?”

Truth be told, they are a mess. Nothing about them is right; they shouldn’t exist in this state, not in a struggle against their own body or stuck in a timeline that remembers nothing of the individuals. Frisk almost feels grateful for the recognition Chara has for them. Yet the tears stun them more than the apparent physical existence of the other child, brow creasing out of what mostly seems to be concern.

“ I… We-- ” A pause and they swallow. “ I messed up. ”

{ Mistake was a harsh word. Well, it was ACCURATE, but the sting was still real - just like the smile pulled taunt across their face and ever present as they stared at the other, waiting and watching to see if they would run just like any other terrified creature. }

(”L-L-Let’s mAKe a D-DEAL, eh? You tEll m-mE, I tell yOu, we’re both h-happy and w-we can be on our MErry way. CAn’t pass up s-sOMEthIn’ like th-that, huh?”);

They make a noise of discomfort, teeth biting into their lip. Hands resting in their pockets clench, form shrinking in on itself the best it can. It wasn’t like it was easy to make theirself feel shorter; the other had at least ten inches on them from the looks of it.

“ ... Fine. ” A breath and they finally spoke.

“ I... tried to reset and I was interrupted. He came to stop me, and-- ” they come to pause again, all four arms out and used to gesture at their body.

All nerves send a shock through their body in the presence of this child. Fingers curl into their palms, spine straight and gaze kept more towards the ground than on the other.

Nothing is said, though the tension in the air should be able to speak for them enough.

Don’t.

It’s a deeper voice, one that holds a biting tone in the back of their head. Don’t communicate with them, don’t move any closer. Heavier limbs are abound, through they refuse to give up. Swallowing, Frans takes only two steps forward, gaze not leaving.

Fingers curl into the fabric of their sleeve, one foot sliding behind the other. Running appears to be the best option, urge to act aggressively mainly pacified for the time being. It’s obvious what has happened here; another timeline, some other mistake made.
