Jugheads madhouse magazines where he was editor and cheif was not doing so well, based on sales and his audience was slowly declining. Maybe it was time for a rebrand or atleast a new funky story.
Jughead looks up and sees a groovey blonde girl feircly talking on the phone when she quickly slams the phone back into place. When the girl steps out of the booth jughead has an epiphany "is that betty cooper" he thinks but he has to be smart about what he wants to say next to make sure he doesnt make a fool of himself. "Hello miss, your Betty Cooper! You know im jughead, from jugheads madhouse magazines" he spits out with bettys eyes narrowing to meet his green eyes. "Im aware of who you are and I just have to say i'm not the biggest fan" she states which weirdly takes jughead aback it was a punch to the gut mainly because it was so unexpected. "Haha" he laughs akwardly before he spits out "i'm sorry but did I offend you in some way" he scoffs "you know what i'm sorry but my cover story failed and I can't publish my newest issue and this pushes us back so far and we are going to get so much revolt" betty gets that off of her chest before slamming down onto the bench next to jughead.
"Could I be of any help, I am currenly trying to make my madhouse magazine more mainstream" he says trying to sound composed and not needy but atlast his comics are low in sale and they need some attention.
"I would offer to help you but you don't really fit the She Says magazine audience or necessarily the morals." Betty claims letting jughead down. "I have to go my own way, but it was lovely meeting you" jughead says warmly but not meaning half the words he said.
The boy in jeans and a tee shirt with a brown jacket stands up and grabs his bag and begins to walk the way back to his own apartment when he releases the same groovy Betty Cooper is following in the same direction.
Walking into the building which betty knows all to well she greets the managers and building staff, she trys hard to get to know people be as open ane freindly as possible to avoid animosity.
Jughead on the otherhand walks into a brand new building with little in his bag and trying to start fresh and grow his magazine.
Betty seeing Jughead enter her apartment building she couldnt hold back to say something "Are you new to the building, you know I belive we got off on the wrong foot and would just like to offer you a drink in my apartment just a little housewarming" she states with confidence and warmness Jughead enjoys this offer and accepts "thank you so much i would love a drink" so they continue to the elavators when betty asks the question "what room number are you in" he thinks for a second and looks down at the key with the numbers 312 written on it "312 are you close by?" Betty let out a chuckle before responding with "funny enough yes im 315" jughead doesnt mind the sound of that, the number one magazine writter in all of new york living right next door.
The elevator chims and the two exit, Jughead jangles his keys to open up a praticaly empty apartment. "Sorry my apartments not finshed setting up yet" Jughead admits setting his bag down and takes off his jacket revealing forearms full tattos which intrigued betty. "Rad tattos do they have any meaning?" Jughead thinks for a second "i have this snake tatto for my dad and these milkshakes are for my hometown and these lovely ladys are some of my comic charaters" jughead says showing his arms while betty looks and starts to admit "i have a tatto as well" she says before starting to pull her top down to reveal a shoulder tatto that has "she says" written in a cursive font. Jughead stares at her shoulder bare with her only in her bra. Betty grabs her too and begins to put it back on. "You know I still have drinks at my place, and your empty place seems sort of sad" Betty offers which Jughead accepts.
At bettys wonderfully decorated apartment they sit on the green sofa whilst sipping on beer "im willing to help you with your magazine" betty says warming up and wanting to help a friend. "Really?" He questions "I am willing to put a comic insert and write an artical to feture your name under one condition it has to have a female led" she states jughead thinks for a second before agreeing and then a thought pops in his head "growing up I allways had this idea of a female killer that was born into a family of killers a whole bloodline thing how would you feel about publishing that" betty stops and thinks for a second not knowing if it's empowering to have the gender roles turned around for once or if its degrading to put a woman killing people in a magazine thats ment for uplifting women, "give me a rough draft and ill see if its good for the zine" betty says.
Betty gets up to grab another drink and jughead starts to look around bettys apartment and seeing many sexulized things it allmost takes jughead aback but he has to ask the question "whats with all the sexual stuff" it comes out weaker than the question he asks "its freeing its equal its making sure your not being surpressed" betty awnsers than sips her drink. Jughead finishes his drink "I think its my time to leave" jughead states "thank you for the drink but i have to get back to my apartment" betty nods and makes the last comment "get back to me on that comic and settle in well".
