we all saw the behind the scenes, they added this sunset on, and I agree with everyone I saw talking abt how this is their relationship ending and maybe someone already brought my point up

but why do a 100% yellow sunset?

sure, sunsets start out like that, but within like five/ten minutes they always shift into a mix of colors. And I doubt this scene is meant to last ten minutes. So why pick the exact moment when the sky is at its most yellow?

so imagine, once byler is pretty much confirmed so somewhere in vol.2 (i think there will be no byler officially confirmed in vol 1), will is in some sort of danger

and mike says "I Love You!"

and will replies "I Know"

i never saw star wars (im sorry ik ik) but "Princess Leia, disguised as the bounty hunter Boushh, infiltrated Jabba the Hutt's palace and freed Han from his carbonite prison" so maybe Mike could go after Will? Idk but i think this would be super cute bc it would show they dont need to say i love you

Rn, he’s convinced Milkshake will break up. I showed him an example of the monologue scene where Mike needed Will to be able to say ily, using him (my brother), his gf, and his childhood friend, and he burst out laughing bc it made no sense to have that

He also said he doesn’t think Mike is homophobic, and that the “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls” line was really strange

no confirmed byler during volume 1

we do get the milkshake's breakup in the beginning like at max episode 2

we get byler scenes!! but most will have someone else too (maybe they are interrupted or it's them + people)

volume 2:

episodes 4/5 = lots of byler scenes (many with just the two of them)

if anyone didnt realize, im being sarcastic, but this is literally how milkshakes sound to me. but i dont think most of these accusations will come from the GA bc they will be like "wow this actually makes sense."

Max's letter was also (partly) Mike's to Will

During the letter scene, the song playing is titled “Letter to Willy” — not Billy. The shift from "B" to "W" isn't a typo, so we know someone is talking to Will here

Max wears a blue and yellow outfit with a yellow watch. The center of the watch is a dark blue btw, so this tells me something here is about byler

Of course, not everything she says is Mike's words to Will— Mike and Will’s relationship is clearly not brotherly, and we know that. If my brother looked at me how Mike looks at Will I'd need therapy. Max is also wearing a checkered shirt (Vecna) and a red collar (max' and lucas' color), so she does speak to Billy here too

Theory Season 5 (LEAKS INCLUDED)

So here’s the theory — careful, 🚨 spoilers ahead! 🚨

We had Steve / Nancy / Jonathan

There's also El/ Mike/ Will

Byler doesn't strictly parallel their siblings, actually, Will often parallels Nancy when it's just Byler. Which means, in S5:

Mike is Jonathan (Holly being Will)

Will is Nancy (clothes, UD connection, we hope for a gun)

El is FREE

Enter Chance. A basketball player, just like Steve.

If Mike is the new Jonathan, Will is the new Nancy, then Chance is the new Steve

Now the theory

In Season 1, Steve and Jonathan fought

In Season 5, there are leaks showing Mike and Dustin hurt, + Dustin with the basketball team seeing Eddie's grave. I doubt the basketball team is there to pay respects

And this might even parallel the Season 1 moment where he and Mike are cornered by Troy and James

To anyone who needs to hear this (especially my future self):

The trailer probably won’t include any Byler moments. In fact, it might highlight the other ship instead

I’m excited for the trailer, and if we do get to see Mike and Will, that’s a win. But keep in mind: Mike and El are definitely going to have scenes together in s5, and that's healthy!

So if that’s what shows up in the trailer, it's fine ❤️ it does not erase the character's arcs + What's more important than the trailer is the recap, and those do show Byler a lot

A Look Back at Previous Trailers, u can skip to what's the point

Season 1 The trailer opens with the D&D game (+the first two lines of the entire show are from Mike and Will). Will disappears. We see Joyce and Hopper, the boys searching, Mike seeing El and saying “That’s not Will.” Mike and El talk, but every time Mike mentions her, it’s about Will. Jonathan and Nancy. Every couple is teased — except Steve, who doesn’t even appear even though he is dating Nancy

Season 2 Starts with El finding the waffle (she was surviving all by herself my baby(😭) Mike talks about Will. We see Jonathan and Nancy, Steve with the kids, Will and Mike, Hopper and Joyce. Later, Mike says “If anyone knows how to destroy this thing, it’s Will.” El appears near the end. Bob shows up (but never with Joyce). Mike and El do NOT appear together

BUT, in the TEASER for s2, Mike's voice calls "Eleven," and there's ZERO scenes with Will, and we all agree season two is Byler season, especially considering he stopped calling el once will was at the hospital

Season 3

Starts with Dustin’s return prank. Mike is literally positioned between El and Will twice. Jonathan/Nancy, Billy, Hopper then Joyce (but not together), Max and El, Lumax holding hands, and El/Max’s friendship is shown again. We do hear Mike’s voice talking to Will (BYLER FIGHT) and Hopper talking to Joyce.

They placed Mike looking back at Will's house (which is like almost last scene) — right at the start of the trailer. Then, five seconds before they end the trailer, Mileven kiss from episode 1.

This is to show trailers can't be trusted!!

Opens with Vecna’s voice and the clock. Max narrates to Billy (I’ve always felt this monologue could parallel Mike to Will but that's not what I'm here for rn). We get a glimpse of where everyone is in episode 1. Hopper in Russia. Will watching Mike and El skate. Mike watching El leave. Steve/Nancy (yes, no Jancy), Lucas hugging Max, Max floating. Big action scenes.

So what’s the point?

They’ve used misleading clips, taken scenes out of context, and more. Trailers are marketing, not storytelling. Sure, they can sometimes support a theory, but they shouldn’t, for example, be above foreshadowing as proof.

I won’t spoil anything here, don’t worry, but there’s a specific quote from Mike to El that leaked and will most likely be in the trailer. It's the kind of quote that seems made for the trailer too. And that’s totally fine!

I'm sorry if I missed anything, i'm sick :( and i never get sick so that's a bummer :( but yeah!!!

I think about the GA a lot, especially because my family’s part of it. They’ve always shipped Mileven, bc like they’re used to it, even tho it's no one otp. They don’t see Byler, they’re not homophobic at all, it’s just that a lot gets lost especially with how long it’s been since the early seasons, and i never mentioned to them bc theyre not big fans of the series. like they just see the new season once it comes out

But this scene would change everything, bc love=crazy is already a saying everyone knows from outside of the show, and it is maybe the only famous saying that has been mentioned three times lol, so it's easier to remember:

Will: "I need to go alone. It’d be stupid for any of you to come."

Mike: "I'm coming with."

Will: "Mike this is crazy—"

Mike: "If we’re both going crazy, then we’ll go crazy together, right?"

Will: "Yeah. Crazy together."

And then we see from next to them: Nancy is watching with that “wait a second” face. That’s the moment. That’s when it clicks for everyone that is has been there SINCE THE BEGINNING.

Then at some point they have to show all the past moments. Maybe even a quick montage like Max got yk? showing hand holding and all bc WE KNOW IT'S THERE

Then no one would be able to say it was fan service
