i've said before how 4 elements reminds me of reading some of my favorite romance series, and it continues to, but what i didn't mention was how often adaptations of those novels were attempts to terrible results.

i haven't read the novels 4 elements is based on so i can't say how well they are doing in being faithful to them, but i can say that they have managed to capture the kind of close family bond that allows them to both take pleasure in watching their cousins lose their minds falling stupidly in love while also being there to support them in any way they need, the same way the books i love read do but their own adaptations have never quite mastered it.

individually, each series is a great romantic love story, but together it's the saga of a crazy, wonderful, loving family
