this post has been a wild ride for me
I’ll keep this short: if you are a musician, it is irresponsible to not watch this video in its entirety, even if you think you already know what’s going to be said (you don’t). Go watch it now.
this blog hates donald trump
Look how many people hate him. I’m pretty damn happy about that 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I’ve never reblogged something so fast
‘hate’ implies its purely for personal reasons no, i actively stand against almost every political stance he has from abducting children to rigging elections to proudly announcing his hateful ideologies to being charged with numerous sexual harassment cases to being charged with numerous cases of fraud to threatening members of the press to encouraging violence against journalists to referring to nazis as ‘very fine people’ its not just that i ‘dont like him’ (which is also true) its that he stands for basically every evil known to man
Rockin and a rollin.
this has so many chaotic energies to it
Thank you, I enjoyed this very much.
It’s like walking into a saloon during a bar fight
This is actually amazing and it feels like magic.
Unmute !
@ruthless-rage literally me 😭
He wants to work but doesn’t want to ruin the music! This is quite nice.
This is like a PDQ Bach album- Marches for outdoor band and improvisational construction equipment.
soundwaves are only good if you put tree sap on horse hair, remember that
*crying* what does this mean
I would contend the sound of slapping a dead animal’s stretched-out skin with a stick can also be quite pleasant, as can screaming from your diaphragm at the right pitch and octave.

Today I bring you a bit of a different style, Psytrance.
I like this song because it’s a clear example of variations. There’s two or three different melodic ideas that get developed as the song goes on. The bass line is pretty much the same during all the first half of the song, and it drives the music forward. All the melodies above it are also variations.
Then we get to the change of theme, where an epic lead melody brings to a change from ternary rhythm (3 notes for each beat, like “DA-da-da DA-da-da”) to a binary rhythm (2 notes for each beat, like “DA-da DA-da DA-da DA-da”)
At first the rhythm and melody of this binary part makes for a really hard feel, which then gets softened by the leads, with a cool, kind of nostalgic melody. After which we get to a down to the ground part.
As a nice touch, the song ends with the same melody as it began, with it’s rhythm a bit changed, but perfectly recognisable, which rounds up this really cool piece of art.
Hey there everyone! Today I bring you the goodness that is the Ska-Jazz. In its origins, Ska was slower and more rich in harmony. Someone really clever decided to join the Ska rhythms with the Jazz harmonies, and we got this.
This song is actually a cover of Charles Mingus, but the fusion is there. First we get the songs verse, as Mingus played it. Then at 1:30 we get the godly rhythm change towards the old school Ska. I would pay attention to all the rhythm that gets added by the backing instruments here.
Then when getting to the piano solo, the drums get to a cleaner, clearer rhythm that lets us hear all what the piano is doing. You can also notice how he plays with the hi-hat openings. And back to the original rhythm.
And oh god, aren’t trombone solos amazing? The sound they manage to pull off is amazing. And a simple yet effective ending.
Hope you guys enjoy!
Oh, shoot, scheduled in the wrong blog. My bad guys.
Here we are today, sorry for the late posting. I bring some good gipsy jazz or jazz manouche.
The absence of drums makes the rhythm go to the other instruments, in particular the guitar. If you listen and watch closely, you’ll see the rhythmic guitarrist is doing that, putting the rhythmic base for the others to play.
Fast paced solos are difficult to explain with a lot of detail. I enjoy them the most when trying to understand them as melodic lines rather than the notes themselves, they give the best feeling of what the musician tried to express like that.
As you’ll notice if you listen to more gipsy jazz, the rhythm is the most important thing. Because of that, the change at 3:53 is one of the greatest turns I can imagine for this kind of tune.
The pause and nimbleness it gives is refreshing and unexpected. I see it like a big air jump done while going downhill, and then getting to put your feet on the ground.
I think that got a bit long... Anyway, hope you guys enjoy it!
Now bear with me with this one. This is by far the best version of this song I’ve ever heard.
The drums are on point, lots of really good fills. And I’m still wondering how he managed to keep it for all the length of the song.
Also, Knopfler is like in another level in this one. There’s licks I don’t know how he’s able to pull off. The solos, great variations of the original record, you can follow them if you know the original by heart. Then all the build up on the second solo. What a build up, he toys with you making you think he’ll go for it, then comes this beautiful, beautiful slow bit that slowly gains traction and momentum and then gets to this burst of awesomness. And then, oh boy, then he goes straight for it and comes back to the original line and most known bit at full speed making you soar for the heavenly finish.
Don’t look at me like that, I love this, okay?
CAUTION WITH THIS, NSFW LYRICS
Ah, The Real McKenzies... They always care for you, like in this one. It doesn’t matter if you have a SO or you’ve been single since you can remember, this song is a good wish for most of us.
If it wasn’t clear, this was a joke. The music’s good (simple and fast folk punk) and makes for fun lyrics.
Hope you guys enjoy!
This is a great song to set the mood for the day, soft at the start and then builds up into what might be one of my favourite progressions.
Also, the crunchy bass that marks the change of theme is just awesome.
Hope you guys like it!
Back to posting
I’ll try to get a queue underway and get my music back going. No more procrastination here (at least for now)
well, i finally hopped on the bandwagon
I suppose this is how anxiety sounds
