“Hi...we’re Jukebox the Ghost, and we love to laugh.”
how far we’ve come….
The Sunday Mail also sounds like a young band that hasnt quite gotten its footing yet. The guitars are almost silent in the mix, and it seems like the song-writer for the band is not quite sure what to do with them. An effective use of guitar and bass could accentuate what are actually pretty good songs. They could also add some desperately needed dynamics to songs that show a talent for song-writing that hasnt quite honed its sharp edge. So, in short, go see The Sunday Mail if you get a chance, but you might want to wait until they mature a little before you buy a record.
“The Sunday Mail, aside from its atrocious name, is a surprisingly interesting band.” - John Thrasher, 5/10/2004
From August 15, 2007.
the eight nights of tally hall-ukkah / night 6: country good
country girls fall in love with country boys country bands making good old country noise all the lights in the city make it hard to see stars oh, lucky that the country is ours
as you may or may not know, rob cantor’s day job is doing freelance songwriting for advertisements and movies— and out of everything in his commercial portfolio, this song is by far and away my favorite. according to rob, it was written for a cracker barrel ad, and tommy siegel (the guitar player of jukebox the ghost) plays banjo on it!!! it’s actually a terrifically catchy song, so i’d just like to apologize in advance to everyone who gets it stuck in their heads after hearing it, LMFAO
