restocking my pills for the week and here's a list of all the prescription migraine meds ive tried. for the hell of it. note I have something like either a yearlong intractable migraine w aura or episodic migraine + hemicrania continua We Don't Know

things that fucked me up so bad: duloxetine (cluster headaches ? from day 1), topiramate (turned me into a zombie on titration week 2. not exaggerating I didn't move)

did nothing at all: amitriptyline, pregabalin, lamotrigine

helped a bit: indomethacin (inconclusive for HC but helped), prednisone (4 day blast helped 100% but steroids are awful), propranolol (only helped on 40mg for 3 hours a go which really isnt workable)

helped heaps: emgality (funny that!!!! they made me trial so much bullshitttt before the thing designed to help migraines. anyway it relaxed my neck completely the first day LOL), candesartan (my 14th med. 11 days in and it's helped knock what emgality didn't which im hoping keeps going!!). also + creatine ! helped my brain fog like nothing else. and also eating a lot more:)

oh and yeah sumatriptan does nothing for me but eletriptan works immediately for 6hrs and naratriptan works slower but for 12. cool!

bc migraine is so individualised the lesson here is really just #Keep Trying. also recent news is the line between episodic migraine and chronic migraine is clinically vague and #imo if you're suffering enough from episodic you should try preventatives rather than just abortives bc migraine attacks at all aren't great for your brain (or you) to go through. imagine you open up a seemingly joke fic titled down to archiecourt and it’s also over a million words long so you assume it’s a find-and-replace riverdale rewrite of dta. and it opens with archie falling asleep and dreaming through the events of dta except a dystopian riverdale and jug’s his guardian angel etc etc and he finally wakes up but it’s only been a few hours and

(crucial. he tries to hurriedly tell jughead but comically everything he says is just something that’s already true. he’s like “jug it felt so real i dreamt we were — we LIVED together,” and jug’s like. uh huh buddy. and archie’s like NO jug like the town was – riverdale was a DISASTER zone. and jug’s like. yeah? and then archie’s like “and we—” but he doesnt get the words out.)

and so you reach the end of chapter one on that note and go. wait a minute. what’s with the word count then? and that’s how you find out it’s a genuine real million word story in its own right that’s not dta but constructed around dta where jughead then commences to slowly get details from him enough that his published version of down to agincourt in-world becomes his next bestseller and his ticket to an actual career and the rest of the fic actually deals with the fallout over this where archie is his muse who now wants nothing to do with him since they failed to bring riverdale up to its former glory and he cannibalised their friendship for fame because imagine coming across that. how insane would that be. if a supernatural fanfiction of over a million words served to merely be the set-off point cocooned inside a separate million word riverdale fic. this may be the most detached from reality ive felt in a fair while just fyi
