You know as an American born in the late 90s I’ve watched my country blow up foreigners on tv supposedly in the interest of national security since I was a toddler but quite frankly we live on a natural fortress of a continent with friendly nations to our north and south and have been attacked on our own soil literally two times in the past hundred years and we have military bases on every inhabited continent on earth. It’s never made sense to do these things for “national security”. It never will make sense unless you value the shareholders of weapons companies over the lives of children. And apparently a concerning amount of people do.

Concerning the ongoing events in the Middle East, one does not need to like the Islamic Republic of Iran to understand that the current US-Israeli aggression has nothing to do with the supposed danger of a nuclear Iran, with the democratisation of Iran, or with the rights of the Iranian people and more especially of the Iranian women: Trump and Netanyahu destroyed the deal that Obama had reached with the Iranian government on the nuclear issue, it is clear now that Trump did not negociate seriously with Iran, and it is obvious that such predators and criminals don't care at all about the rights and the lives of the Iranians and about democracy in Iran and use such topics just as pretexts.

On the contrary, the current aggression is about the re-imposition of the American domination on Iran and the neocolonial plunder of its resources, this time in a more brutal form and in a devastated and probably dismembered country. It is also about the elimination of the major opponent of Israel in the region. Again, one doesn't need to agree with the positions and the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to understand that a total political and military domination of the M. East by the US of Trump and the Israel of Netanyahu and Ben Gvir with destruction of all their rivals would pave the way for more suffering and gross violations of rights of whole populations, with annexation of occupied lands and probably ethnic cleansings in Palestine- and perhaps not only (the recent statements of Trump's ambassador in Israel about the "Biblical Right" of the latter on the land from the Nile to the Euphrates were particularly alarming).

i do not want to live in the fucking panopticon fuck the camera that blinks above me at work, the tv watching me at the store, the "smile you're on camera" signs, the ring cameras, the flock cameras, the apps to track your child or partner, the activist friends telling me "just assume everything you do in public is being recorded somewhere", the government building protester databases, the teslas recording every move all around them, the knowledge that everything i type or search or save is being tracked and logged, the ads and search suggestions that mysteriously know what i was just talking about, the way biometrics keep creeping into more places, the way my car spies on me, the way my phone spies on me, the way there is nowhere to go to get away from it!!! no wonder the internet is full of vindictive little stalkers and witchhunts when it's the water and the air of society from the culture to the infrastructure
