TLDR: In ten days last month, the Wikimedia Foundation fired the longtime lead developer of MediaWiki and disbanded the team whose entire job was to listen to volunteers. Most of the people they fired were union organizers. Wikipedia’s editors are now threatening to strike in solidarity. The Foundation is sitting on $296 million in reserves and a freshly profitable AI revenue stream. This is a confrontation with global implications.

It has been suggested elsewhere that if you are a Wiki Foundation donor, it would be a good idea to email and explain that this kind of behaviour will lead to you withholding future donations.

im just so happy i live in a time period where actual meaningful biological transition is possible. even if we lose rights or the ability to exist in public, nothing can turn back the clock on that, and just by having any sort of access to that our lives are made immensely better. millions of our sisters throughout history would never have dreamed of a day where they could have what HRT does for us.

Their name is Sally & they're a Scarepossum (Scarecrow Opossum),

I made a bit of lore for them, they were created as a scarecrow for a wheat field of a small rural town called Harvest.

As for how Sally came to life? Nobody really knows, they just one day woke up in a Wheat Field & got off their post to walk to their creators house (said creators were a family of four).

The family more or less treated Sally as an adopted child/farmhand.

Some angels aren’t that good at taking human shape, but they do try their best to be friend shaped.

over on patreon Scyllarus asked for ‘Toy breed angels (like toy breed dogs, but with more eyes and wings)’, and Werejelly wanted ‘Living creatures that somehow incorporate things like pipecleaners, yarns old buttons and crafty things into their biology’.

i imagine these little buddies hang out with humans a lot. maybe they’ve been sent for some reason by a god with an overflowing craft drawer who’s really into kidcore, maybe they’re fallen angels who have found new forms of self expression and community among the humans as they literally craft their forms as they see fit. in any case, although they can probably be the size of a building if they want, they choose to be somewhere between the size of beanie baby or a pomeranian. perfect size to rest in the palm of your hand or settle on your lap if you sit still long enough.

every one of them absolutely bites though. Do Not Antagonize.

Very interesting how white anti ai people will make jokes about police brutality, Jim Crow, even the fucking KKK, and will then fuss at any person of color (especially black people) who tell them it’s insensitive.

And I also never see them speak up about the ai generated videos that have racist stereotypes?? Especially about black people…I have seen SO MANY of them…

Correct, you can’t be racist to AI. But no, you should not be making jokes about serious things that happen to marginalized people just to make fun of AI.

So something major was told to me recently.

Apparently the reason why my landlord visited us recently to have a contractor work on the house is because she's planning on selling it.

We've been tenants since the early 2000s & I have no idea what to do.

My mom is currently looking for houses in our hometown to potentially rent,

she's done so to little success so far & has been pretty stressed.

I just want to know what to do.

Just saw this in the front yard today

I got a major update regarding the housing situation: The house was bought & the person who bought it wants to make it so the current tenants can still live here (That includes my family & our next door neighbor), but we don't know how much the new landlord will raise the rent.

It is safe to say that things might be looking good for my family, I only hope that whatever price increase doesn't lead to us having to move out.
