Encounters On Travel | Fata Morgana Galerie, Berlin 14.09. – 20.09.18
Photography, mixed media and installations by Julia Murakami & André Werner Ahead of the Berlin art week the Fata Morgana gallery opens an exhibition of works by Julia Murakami and André Werner that is as subliminal as it is immersive.
What both artists unites is an artistic approach that does not only reflects an existing reality but rather transcends into the imagery of new realities.
BIOPHILIA IV: ANIMALIA
Curated by Maggio Art Consultancy for KI Europe, New Fetter Place, London We are animal. Since the very birth of art itself, animals have been our greatest muse. From primitive rock paintings to the Nazca Lines in Peru, the Great Sphinx of Giza, the Chinese dragon, or the legendary rainbow serpent of indigenous Australia. Animals are omnipresent in art in every culture, and every era of human history. We give them archetypal symbolism through religion, mythology, folklore and tradition. In art we can mutate them into mythical creatures. Real or imagined, we project our own human characteristics onto them. We could all readily name an animal that we associate with loyalty, obedience, purity, wit, strength, power, avarice, laziness, virility, innocence, masculinity, femininity.

The Seven Deadly Sins | KH5 Gallery Zurich, 7 – 21.7. 2017
Julia Murakami‘s work series can be seen as a visual exploration into a lost and forgotten time. Seemingly frozen in a single moment either in stage-like settings or as a cosmos of odd creatures, the works showcase voyeuristic insights into a world anchored in the psyche...continue reading

SHOTS IN THE LIGHT AND THE DARK:
Directors Lounge at Mitte Media Festival, 5 – 6 May, 2017
The lights are on and the gloves are off for this sensory assault of choicest knock-out punches from around the world of DL. Stories are told, implied or avoided in a rush of shorts spread over two venues and three programs. Everything you need to reactivate undernourished cinema-hungry brain cells will be served up – plenty of DL premiere gems in the bunch, plus other bright lights from a slew of bright minds.
We are pleased to participate in the Mitte Media Festival, a two-day, multi-venue celebration of video, film, publication and performance works through a spectrum of media starting on May 5th and ending on May 6th.
We will be presenting two screenings at Z-Bar, Bergstraße 2, Berlin at 6 pm and 8 pm, presented by André Werner and Kenton Turk. An Urban Research program curated by Klaus W. Eisenlohr will take place at the Fata Morgana Gallery.
We will hit you, in the best way possible!
