there’s a race in the forest of death to the tower in the chunin exams; Deidara just blows the entire forest up and Itachi uses the Sharingan to make sure the proctors have no idea that happened. Sasori has no idea what’s going on but goes with the flow anyway 

Hidan, Kakuzu and Orochimaru are second to reach the tower, without a scratch on them. 

Konan, Yahiko and Nagato are third to reach the tower because Konan covered them with paper to shield the explosion 

Kisame and Obito turn up and explain that Zetsu was eating the bodies.
