Born For Me
By Paul Westerberg
When the loneliest eyes And the emptiest arms Finally decide to meet
With a head in a lap And a tongue tied in knots Then the loneliest eyes Try and speak
You were born for me Beautiful and blue I could die here with you
For a couple of nights You could say you're my wife You could stay Or run away if you please
The heaviest head And the emptiest hands You'll be safe in the light When we kiss When we breathe
You were born for me Beautiful and blue I could die here with you
You were born for me Beautiful and blue Stay here with you
I can't bear it I can't share it With anybody in, my little world
I can't hide it I'll never find it With another girl, yeah
When, when we kiss When we breathe
You were born for me Beautiful and blue I could die here with you
I can't bear to Try and share you Well, I'm the one to talk You're the one that's free
When you forget me Then you'll let me Fade away You'll always be
Born for me Beautiful and blue I could die here with you
You were born for me Beautiful and blue I could die here with you

People love it when a beautiful woman self-destructs Like a tiger in a cage or a bug under glass People point but donât touch
But beautiful boys get away with so much They get away with murder They can be wasted and dirty and cruel
âCause they know thereâs always another girl

Every one alive is a survivor And everything's the matter You're too young to die In a double suicide With the wrong guy
What of all the paths you tried to take? To want too much was your mistake
You're running out of reasons You're running out of faith And promises are nothing They're broken as they're made
You're running out of answers Can't give you any more You're running out of everything You're running out the door
It's not supposed to be like this Can this be all there is? You keep pushing your luck Too stupid to give up
You dream bigger You fall harder
Think of things that should have never happened You think of all the things that never will
You're running out of reasons You're running out of faith And promises are nothing They're broken as they're made You're running out of money And you don't know how to say "Can you help me? I'm drifting away"

Happy Birthday to Juliana Hatfield! One of my early musical heroes, and the reason I almost went to Bostonâs Berklee College Of Music (well, her AND Steve Bartek from Oingo Boingo), Juliana is a fuzz pop dynamo; she writes great songs, she is a fantastic guitarist, and, yes, also quite lovely. I had a poster from the Only Everything era above my turntable and practice amp in high school (I also used to write her name on my Converses during art class). Iâve always preferred her rock out mode to her acoustic side, but then again lots of my favorite Hatfield tracks are the softer songs. She continues to put out great records (most recently a set of covers which has some choice choices, e.g. âCellsâ from Teenage Fanclubâs overlooked Man-Made record!). Happy birthday to you, JH!
Juliana Hatfield first album - Hey Babe - This album changed my life actually.
