KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD

Her blue eyes scanned his features. He was the traditional handsome man. Seemingly to be genuinely sweet as well. something the young woman was definitely not acostom to. âAccidently?â she questioned before refocusing her eyes back to meet his eyes. âDarling, canât be an accident if that was the whole goal.â Val teased and gave his arm a light little squeeze. âOh no no no, you told me at the Gala you were an amazing cook, Iâll need to see that in action. Nothing hotter than a man that can cook.â Typically Val wouldnât be as bold as this, but if the poisoning taught her anything, itâs you never know whatâs going to happen.
-
It was that somewhat coy smile that had him, and he knew that he was in trouble. âMaybe youâre right, maybe that was just my cheesy way of gauging your level of interest in little olâ me,â he teased right back and then nodded. âThat...is a fair call, I did brag about my cooking prowess, and it would make me look rather weak if I didnât at least make do on that small promise.â He gave a momentâs pause. âSo, if youâre not sticking around the hospital, then I think itâs the least I can do to help our fair city out by feeding one of our best and brightest doctors,â he raised his grin to her. âI live a bit out of town, do you think the pasta is worth the drive?âÂ

â Others can watch if you want ,â she whispered, her lips trailing up to his ear to bite his lobe gently. His question piqued her interest a bit. â Oh ?â She tilted her head from side to side, weighing her options. â I think I can make it ⊠Can you ?â She wondered, reaching for the top of his thigh, not wanting to overstep too many boundaries. â Although , the car does sound a bit more scandalous ,â she agreed, rising to her feet. Melrose turned on her heels, taking three strategic steps forward so that Julius could watch her butt sway as she did so. â Aren â t you going to come ?â She jeered, wondering if he would catch on to the double entendre.Â
-
âIâm not so sure youâd be so receptive to an audience, but if thatâs what gets you going, Rosie,â he grinned, eyes darting down to the hand that was trailing up his leg, and precariously close to a rather sensitive area. His grin was only growing, and he watched as she stood up and he followed suit. âOf course, what sort of person would I be if I let you go to the dark, empty carpark all alone without a bodyguard,â he joked, following her towards the exit and to the elevator that would take them to the basement parking. As soon as they were enclosed in the quiet elevator, he quirked a brow and turned his attention to her. âSo bold and in a hospital. Iâd gander that that is much more scandalous than the car.âÂ

it didnât matter that there were five different clocks in her house all set eight minutes fast or how early she started preparing for the day. the only thing she could consistently manage to get out of the house on time for was work. ( thank god for that at least, no work, no rent money. ) kiara was so easily distracted at times, sheâd put on her favourite spotify playlist to get ready and next thing you know half an hour had gone by and all sheâd accomplished was dancing around her loft singing into a hairbrush. it wasnât her fault. the blame could only be placed on the music, clearly.Â
did she feel heat rising in her cheeks at the reminder that she didnât abide by the timeline they had set? maybe a little. it was the compliment though that pulled a bashful smile to her lips, promptly brushing it off with a playful roll of her eyes. â oh, so youâre smooth? â biting back her grin as she let her gaze wander fully along his frame. â you donât look half bad yourself. â a small admission before she slid into the passenger side of his car. it took only a moment for her to buckle her seatbelt, hips turning inwards slightly as she drew her attention to wolf as he climbed in the drivers seat, head falling back against the cushioned headrest. â seven minutes late. or just text me youâre here like ten minutes before youâre actually here and maybe iâll be on time. â
-
The reply brought a grin to his lips, and he was slowly growing less apprehensive about the entire evening. He did have a slight ulterior motive for asking Kiara to the event that night, and though he had mentioned it somewhat over the phone, there was still a small part of him that thought heâd better mention it again, and add on how much he appreciated the help in general. âListen, in my line of work, Kiara, being late costs you dollars, so you learn very quickly to be on time, or even early, to things. I saw a junior paralegal fired once for being three minutes late. The deposition had started, and the poor kid was stuck in the lobby because the lifts were out, but it wasnât good enough. Fired. Straight away.â He clicked his fingers after putting his seatbelt on and slowly pulling out of the parking spot. âLike that. Might as well have missed the entire thing,â he chuckled as he settled into the seat, watching the roads carefully as he drove.
âWell, I must say, thank you very much for helping me out tonight, I know you must have more exciting things to get up to on a Friday night,â he slowly flicked the indicator on to merge onto the highway. âPlans that are definitely more interesting than pretending to be my date so a client gets the message. If it werenât for the fact that Iâm really trying to secure her business, I donât think I woud have bothered with this whole thing.âÂ

â If I didn â t know better , I â d say you were intrigued by my proposition .â Melrose leaning in closer to Julius, trying to read his non-verbal queues. Hearing his response, a smile curled on the sides of her lips. â I would be so disappointed if you denied me , Wolf ,â she cooed, looking down at his lips, the smirk still apparent on hers. The womanâs eye flickered towards the hallway, wondering if there was a vacant room nearby they may be able to sneak away to. â I would offer an empty room here , but I feel like they â re busy here ⊠My place is only a few blocks away ,â she whispered, her lips now merely inches from his own. If there was one thing Melrose specialized in, it was public teasing. â And I would love to entertain you ,â she continued, her lips brushing against the tender skin of his neck.Â
-
âI would never be so bold as to deny you, Melrose,â he smirked, watching as she moved in closer, slowly closing the gap between them and realised the undertones of her suggestions. He could appreciate a woman who knew what they wanted, and went after it without any pretenses. âOh, so itâll be a private cardio workout,â he chuckled, skin feeling on fire a her lips loomed in closer to his neck and his smirk only elevated into a wider grin. âAre you sure youâll be able to make it a few blocks?â He queried, raising a brow. âI only ask as Iâve got a suggestion of my own. Iâve heard that tinted windows and a wide body Mercedes can also do the trick. For your specific cardio needs, of course. And itâs not four blocks away.âÂ

â shit, shit. â the words muttered when the screen on her phone lit up, â WOLF â popping up beneath the highlighted time. she didnât need to read the text to know that he was here, which was only mildly stressing to the woman who was perpetually late to well - almost everything. it didnât matter how early she started getting ready, she always found herself rushing towards the end, this instance was no different. she stopped the music she had playing from her speakers, typing out a quick reply of â be out asap. â so he wasnât left completely clueless on her whereabouts. taking one last glance in her handheld mirror, kiara quickly swiped some gloss onto her lips - throwing the compact, tube, and her cell into the black clutch she grabbed as she passed by her bed. brown hues scanned the floor - a mental fist pump happening in her mind when she spotted the black heels in the corner by her dresser. shoes and then she was done, or at least as done as she was going to get. she promptly put her heels on while walking across the floor, resulting in more of a skip and a hop than a walk. she stole a glance at the watch on her wrist before she walked out the door, only a few minutes behind, it really was almost a personal record, ( not that she would outwardly admit that. )Â
kiara locked the door to her loft, regaining composure as she walked down the stairs - a smile tugging at her features when she passed through the second set of doors exiting the brick building and the blonde finally came into view. â we should really talk about this whole being early business. â an easy tone carrying her words across the space between them.Â
-
It wasnât that he was always early on purpose, but he had the value of time keeping drilled into him from a young age, and it just so happened that it was now a personal promise to be early, or at least, on time to functions and events, and an agreed upon time to pick someone up was not an exception to that rule. He didnât mind waiting, truly - he liked being outside, and it gave him some time to reflect on his day, and in his wait, it was also a nice reason to watch as the world flew around them a little. When she replied in text that she was on his way, he knew enough from his little sister that it rarely meant that they were on their way, and his hunches were confirmed when she appeared, a few minutes past âon the wayâ looking slightly flustered.
âWell, Iâd say that I made a promise to pick you up at a certain time, but when you look so entirely beautiful, I think I have to change my answer and let you know that I donât mind waiting at all,â he opened the passenger side door of the car, opting not to call a driver for that evening, upon the suspicion that they may have to cut their evening short. Joining her in the car after she was in, he busied himself with the seatbelt and starting the ignition as he asked, âBut out of curiosity, what time should I have arrived?âÂ

âIâm hoping youâd tell me if I was wrong.â The brunette said with a shrug of her shoulder. They were innocent at best and she hoped that he knew as much. âWow. Is that so? I donât think Iâd be too comfortable admitting that aloud even if it was true.â It sounded a little cocky but she was sure that was the goal. âThank you and theyâre very ambitious. Well, maybe they were just foreshadowing your future. Good for them. They must have great genes. But we better not get in the debate about nurture vs nature.â
-
There was a playfulness to their exchange and he quite enjoyed it. After all, it wasnât very often that he was able to interact with women who were quite easy on the eyes in a capacity that wasnât business driven. âWell, Emine, now youâve got me thinking I should endeavour to keep you around. Shall we venture to get you some food that isnât from a cafeteria vending machine?â He asked, extended an arm in an attempt for chivalry. âAnd you can tell me all about how attractive, how handsome, how charming I am over some decent food.âÂ
END.

While she already had a Subway sandwich ready to go, Aeva wasnât above trying out the food openly given to her. âAlright then.â Hastily wrapping up the bitten sandwich into its packaging, she placed it on the table next to the soup, in favour of picking up the slice of sourdough he was egging her on to try. Tearing a good chunk, she proceeded to dip the bread into the soup, and giving that a taste.Â
âOhââ The satisfied reaction she had when chewing was more than telling. Delighted, widened dark browns also spoke before she even could after a swallow. âOkay, that is good and Iâm completely floored. The pairing is perfect.â The slice was certainly different from the bread her sandwich had, and it gelled better with the hearty taste of the soup.Â
Thrilled by the pleasant company and an amazing soup, Aeva figured she could at least spill Spencerâs story, as long as it wasnât her own. âSo basically I have a foster brother. Again, only family I have.â she prefaced, managing to talk in between bites of her bread and minestrone. âBroke up with his ex years ago, and he never got over it. Fast forward to now, he found her in the city and asked her to the gala. Off they went, but you know what happened next.â she said, finishing off her slice. âAnd now sheâs confined upstairs and heâs watching her. And Iâm just being a good sister and minding him, because he gets really into her and someone needs to look after him just as much.âÂ
By the time she was done with the tale, she was nearly done with her soup as well, draining the last of the Styrofoam cupâs contents. Pausing in her spirited eating, Aeva smiled from across the table, noting of his kindness and overall aura. He was at ease, and yet, she could somehow tell that he was a person with authority. And as he mentioned the words âfirm partnerâ, her hunch was more or less confirmed almost immediately. âThank you. I guess weâre all just hoping that everyone comes out of the incident.â surmised the woman, hopeful in her tone. âAnd thank you for the soup, too. I loved it.â
-
He found a certain delight whenever people enjoyed things heâd made, and simply whenever he was proven correct. âAll Iâm saying is that nothing beats a homemade meal,â he sent the other a charming smile, and then smoothed down his jacket. It had been a rather long lunch heâd decided to take, but with the capacity to hire more attorneys and paralegals, things tended to run themselves at the firm smoother, which gave him the luxury of taking longer lunches and early dinner plans.
Listening to her story, Julius couldnât help but wonder about the intricacies of the relationship. âIn my experience, exes tend to be much more trouble than theyâre worth. But from what Iâve heard from the doctors, it seems like theyâre both going to be making speedy recoveries.â A small smile lifted the corner of his lips. âYouâre a very good sister, itâs a shame you donât have more family members to share your love with,â and he truly meant it. It seemed that she had quite the bleeding heart, and in his realm of life, it wasnât often that he met people like Aeva.
âWell, my dear, itâs been a pleasure meeting you today, but Iâm afraid that the office calls,â never one to give up a chance, he reached into his breast pocket for a business card he happened to carry in there, pulling out the card easily and sliding it across the table. âIf youâre ever in need of a personal injury lawyer, make sure you give me a call,â he sent her a cheeky grin and with the glass container in one hand, he offered her a wave with the other and stood. âI hope your brother makes a full recovery. If not, you know where to come. It was nice meeting you.â
END.

Melrose was still unsure of how to go about her relationship with Wolf. It was all still very new to her, they had really only seriously spoken at the gala and she was interested in knowing who he was as a person, what made him tick. â Coffee was going to be one of my suggestions ,â she agreed, with a nod of her head. Toying with the idea in her head, Melrose thought why the hell not? and eyed Julius with her dark hues. â Since you have to get back to work , I say we do something more fun first and coffee second . Maybe some light cardio ? Or âŠâ she paused, sneakily taking her bottom lip between her teeth. â Or maybe something a bit more ⊠Tiring ,â she offered, shrugging her shoulders and turning her back to him, hoping he would follow her lead.Â
-
If he made any indication that he was shocked by her proposal, he didnât let it show. The only response he gave immediately after her suggestion was a raise of his brow, as it cocked up and down, before supplementing with a grin. âIf I didnât know you better, I would be thinking youâre propositioning me, and in a hospital no less,â he pretended to look aghast but found that the feign could only last so long. âAnd who would I be to deny you?â he sent her another smile and then checked his watch. âSuppose I agree to the cardio workout, where exactly would you suggest we conduct this little tiring activity?â He asked, curious as to her answer.Â
location: regal sierra casino time: past midnight status: closed for @maximilian-vonbrandtâ
It wasnât in his usual repertoire of locations within Oceanside, but the Regal Sierra Casino was where he would find Max, and secretly, he hoped that the encounter would mean a few more answers to some questions that had surfaced. The mystery of the man was intriguing, and without there being many mysteries left (not in his line of work), Wolf found it almost impossible not to try to find the answers. Well aware that there was a darker side of the town that he had made his home in, he wasnât entirely sure if pulling at the thread that was Max von Brandt was a wise move, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him.
The noise, however, was not what he liked. The intermittent cheering, the sound of jingles and bells as people won, it was what he avoided for most of his life, but as if through a haze, he noticed the person he was after, making his way over. âMax,â he called, a grin on his face, under the guise of having caught him as he was passing through the foyer.Â
đ
Wolf likes to have company, and he especially likes to throw dinner parties. This is mostly because he does like to cater and cook, but also because his house can get a little bit empty and lonely now that heâs alone in it once more. Plus, he also has lots of wine that heâs been gifted over the years and heâs about 100% sure heâll never be able to finish it off on his own.
đ- Does your muse enjoy praise?, đ- Do they like âso bad itâs goodâ movies?
He likes praise from his parents, because deep down he does like knowing that heâs made his parents proud. Plus, they created the ostentatious monster when they named all three of their children after Roman political leaders.Â
Wolf likes documentaries most of the time, bad horror films, thrillers, and yes, renditions of the classics. Donât tell anyone but he does love Pride and Prejudice. Heâs prideful, sheâs prejudiced. The premise works.Â
đ°- Does your muse like to read the news?
Wolf is a put together lawyer who likes to know about current events so he does like reading the news. When heâs in a hurry or there isnât really time to read a newspaper, heâll listen to it or watch it while heâs cooking, but most of the time, he does like to enjoy a newspaper. Since things are slowing down and he can trust his associates at the firm to run things a bit more, he is finding that he has a little bit more time.Â
đ- Does your muse like to collect/hoard anything?
As cheesy as it sounds, Wolf likes to collect books. Mostly, itâs the classics and he has a real affinity for gothic fiction, but he doesnât really like reading them unless theyâre the first editions with all the original typography. Most of the time, he just likes sitting with a newspaper in his library and reading. Nice if itâs raining too, but thatâs not a prerequisite. He barely has time, really.

location: outside kiaraâs place of residence time: 6:28 pm status: closed for @kmxkayâ
For as long as he could remember, he had always prided himself on being punctual. The agreed upon time was six-thirty, and pulling up to the residence with a few minutes to spare, he adjusted his tie in the rear view mirror before stepping out of his car. He sent Kiara a quick message, just to let her know that he had arrived, and stood beside the passenger seat of the vehicle as he waited, taking the time to reflect on his luck that he was able to seek an ally in Kiara, especially someone who seemed open-minded enough to agree to his plan.
