Heâs still numb from it all. Don had managed to pull Xiomara out of the house and to the back yard. In all honesty, he had stayed a bit too long watching over her. She was bleeding from her shoulder and there was so much blood. On instinct, he had ripped the sleeve off of his shirt and balled it up to put pressure on the wound. Thankfully, his hearing has cleared up a bit, the ringing is gone and itâs not so muffled. Thereâs a lot of crying and screaming, no one knows who exactly is still inside of the house and a majority have ran outside.
Dread has still taken over him and he realizes that not everyone is out yet. As he turns back to the house, he smells something burning. Smoke is begining to rise from the rubble and his eyes have gone wide. The people in the kitchen. Fuck. There was still being food made, the gas line has probablyâŠDon jumps to his feet, though it takes a lot out of him. Working through the pain and grimacing with each step he takes, Donovan makes his way back into the somehow still standing villa.
âHey!â He shouts, though it sounds like a whisper in his own head. âIs anyone-â Don coughs from the dust and the smoke, â-still in here?!â Donovan brings the collar of his shirt up and over his nose to prevent more dust from going into his lungs. His eyes are tearing up from all the smoke. Itâs from behind him that someone ask âWhere is Julian?â. Fuck. He searches frantically for more survivors, but his ultimate goal was to get back to the kitchen.
Heâs pulled out as many family memebers and associates as he can before there is an ungodly creak and groan. He looks up towards the crumbling ceiling and notices how the fire is begining to spread. Is that a beam? Fuck fuck fuck, the supports of the Villa are catching on fire.
Donovan turns to head to the kitchen, climbing over rubble. He can hear some shuffling from inside the kitchen, but the way is blocked by what looks like a piece of the stair case. That shit is on fire too. Thereâs no way he can move it without burning himself. Don begins to look around, trying to see if there is a new way to get into the kitchen, but there is another creak from the house. Shit.
âJulian?!â Don calls out. âAre you in there?!â He needs to figure out where he is so that he can find a better way to get into the kitchen.
According to Julian Guerra, this hadnât been the worst situation heâd gotten himself into over the course of the past three years.Â
He felt the impact and watched as the area around him crumbled but there was a small, undisturbed moment of pure bliss thatâd sparked deep within him. Short-lived as the surrounding sounds became siren loud. There were screams. Cries. The heat of a raging fire burning around him. He rested his head back, staring up at the ceiling that had every intention on crushing him. Was this what his life had become? A flipbook of a boring, mundane life filled with pleasing his brother and working until every muscle in his body ached? He never found love. Never held anybody. He knew heâd die someday but he hadnât expected so soon.
âIâm here,â he called back, pushing himself up into a seated position as he shook off the dust thatâd settled onto his shoulders. âSir, I believe it to be wise to leave me. Iâd suggest finding any others that are in need any medical assistance.â Attempting to climb to his feet, he was hit with a bolt of pain and he hissed, letting himself back down. His leg was gone. Typical. âHas anyone called the fire department yet?â
